New Server - Horrible Idea

Recommended Posts

If all these people in queue would go Nost PVP like you guys suggest we would have another problem, how is that a fix?

1, They are populated enough

2, Why should they go and play on a server thats already established and not have the option to play from fresh?

You make no sense. Even if the entire queue quit, there'd still be enough people to populate four servers easily.

As I said,

Those players will fall off. The majority of players never even reach level 60 they burnout and quit long before.

Queues are going to happen when things first release. You just need to wait it out and the people who aren't here to commit will fall off as they always do.

I believe the population will stay high for a long time, it will drop to some extent, but not so much that will affect the gameplay in a negative way. It will be healthy on all realms.

So it's not in your interest to show Blizzard how many people want legacy servers, you'd rather just asume that 20k people would just quit anyway and there's no need to open a new server? /facepalm

I think the Q numbers are not a good measure to go by heres why.

Every time i log in or out at an inn there is at LEAST 40 people afk in there, many of them running into the wall. You cant really blame them when I personally have waited in q for 28 hours before being able to play (first day (with disconnects in Q)) However if all the afk  actually logged off the Q would be thousands less.

Please don't kid yourself.

Blizzard will never release Vanilla Realms.

Sounds good to me. Mergers down the road will be a possibility, if in fact new server will delude the player base. Sure it will make economy weird for a few weeks until it settles, but rather a potential temporary weirdness than definite temporary unplayable.

Okay well server just went through a maintenance and I'm back in queue, 11000th spot. I've been in queue past 7 hours. No new server needed huh?

How is it unplayable though?

I work 9-5, I start the queue a few hours before I get home from work and i'm in within an hour or so. Plenty of time to play.

So only the people who are willing to spend weeks and months on end sitting in 10+ hour long queues are deserving of playing a fresh server? People who are not able to commit to that should just leave / quit?

And we all know they have the "manpower" to handle a 4th server..

Not saying it is a bad idea - just, at least, have a little scepticism.    This can go both ways - but I understand the queue frustration.

Your own fault for not logging in after maintenance.

The biggest problem is avoiding dcs. I'd say at least 5-10% of the population is afk dodging.

After waiting in queue for like 5 hours, server went through a maintenance and now I'm back in queue. Not to mention having to queue 5+ hours in advance is ridiculous as it is.

This is irrelevant of the queue issue.

How much time did I have? 3 minutes before the server was full?

Your own fault for reconnecting after maintenance.

I got in straight away.

Yeah, lots of people will quit around lvl 30.  But guess what, a fuck ton more will sign up.

I have 3 IRL friends waiting to sign up after the starting zone spike.  There are retailers who are extremely interested in vanilla who will decide to finally try Elysium.  There are people on other private servers who will decide to come here.  There are people with no current connection to WoW who loved vanilla, they hear about Elysium, then want to sign up.

The same exact thing happened with Nost PVP.  Lots showed up for launch, some left, then the population grew steadily over time.

Getting really tired of these whiny cunts telling everyone what to do.  What is the worst that could happen?  They merge the two servers?  You have less noobs to gank on Nost PVP?

Why do people assume most people won't reach 60 and people will quit and leave? What evidence do you have? all i see is a 4th realm, 2nd in a week for one project. Original Nost started with only a couple thousand then reached to over 10k online 24/7. Now look where they are. With the relaunch and popularity it continues to grow, filling up reddit and other sub forums yet you cry just like all the other people who said Nost would die and who wants to play vanilla. You have the same mentality as "You think you do, but you don't."

Im not even the biggest fan of Elysium/Nost, there have been better projects and better future ones. But be real.

This is wonderful news.  The hate towards another server is profoundly transparent.  No one reading your threads believes you think this is more harmful to longevity than the available fresh servers being so impenetrable people quit by the thousands.

I have multiple friends waiting to play because they can't play the game within actual real life person with obligations type schedules.  You're going to see more longevity from this, not less, because this will prevent us from prematurely shedding thousands of players.

Released WoW player statistics from Vanilla, Nostalrius player statistics released when the server shut down.

I believe Vanilla was something in the region of 61% of registered players never reached level 60. I'll go look one second.

It had a consistent player base over 9-10K 24/7. Since relaunch it has grown twofold. I guess the fact that every dedicated 60 as at least 1 if not more bank alts, plus regular lvling alts, plus twinks.....

great statistics.

It also gained tons of popularity in the months before it shut down, leaving many people stranded in the lmiddle of lvling.

Unique players you imbecile, not characters. They were released based on account data.

"Now there won't be newbies for me to gank!!!"

Lowbie ganking isn't a factor.

Concentrating end game raiding potential is what I'm mostly concerned with.

It's really not, but just keep trying to convince others... maybe you might even find a fool or two.
