Nostalrius does not speak for me

Recommended Posts

When I read their statement/request I got the feeling that the message that they were trying to get across is "We believe this is the best course for the vanilla community, we as Nostralius has taken upon ourselves to speak for the entirety of the vanilla community" and I for one do not agree with them. I just wanted to get my 2 cents in and tell you that i really appreciate all the work you've put into the game and it really shows. Do not listen to their demands, they are not looking out for all of our interests but only their own. Keep up the good work!

We all do. Thanks for your hard work, Elysium!

They don't speak for any of us anymore. They can continue to act like it in a delusional state if they insist, but we're moving on without them. I hope now everyone finally realizes what a bunch of pricks Nost are.

Jumping to conclusions. You do realize that there is a strong chance nost is currently under legal fire by blizzard right now right? If this is the case, they don't have a choice. It's a legal disaster.

While I agree that possibility is strong, it's still just presumption. More importantly, the Nost announcement had Blizz-like wording to it, so it immediately reeks of dishonesty. It had the same weak support and apologetic "soft" language that all of Blizzard's worst decisions were backed by. Either Nost sold out (which is also possible), or they were legally compelled. We can't know for sure which it is, though.

The most insulting thing about their "reasoning" is the idea that complying with Blizzard's wishes ever got us anywhere. Blizz does what Blizz wants, and the only way to change their minds is through overwhelming evidence that they are wrong. Hence, private "pirate" servers need to become even stronger, more popular, and more numerous before they will admit they are wrong and finally give us what we want (if ever, which is also highly doubtful).

I would bet money on this.
