Recommended Posts

Hello all fellow paladins brothers, as the title say, i ave reached the lvl 60 and really want to start my path into the tanking path. I ave at the moment only equip from quest's and some dungeon reward but nothing with defense stats or block value. For begin to collect some gear i ave to run lvl 60 dungeons as a retry or i can tank there dungeons without tanking gear? i don't want to cause too much wipe to my party eheh but i know, where ave to start from somewhere :) Help me pls. Thx for all answer and tips.

greens with stamina from the ah. then you can run brd for lots of easy gear and move up from there. but you may just want to roll holy for raids anyways

Go to BRD, 4 tanking items are there, work your way up.. but start.. in BRD.

If your lacking in tanking rings... go to Sunken Temple of Atal'Hakkar (ST). the dragons can drop +4 Def ring with random stats. I prefer of the eagle which is int and stamina.

Agree here 100% go for BRD items and then combine naglering with drake claw band? I'm sure that's the name of it. But Eagle version is the aim, some people might say strength instead of int but more mana means more holy shield uptime etc which is more mitigation and threat Scholo is where most of the good armor you want drops but it is one of the harder dungeons so have some gear before going in here preferably.

Also there is an easy to obtain really good tanking chest from the Fordring quest line, if this is available yet anyway, haven't had the time to level that fast and check yet haha.

Drake claw band is a great ring, while trying to get "of the bear", I ended up with "of the eagle" which I was happy with.

whatever floats your boat however

BRD is a solid start. Also you can get 10 people under geared players together and run LBRS. Yes I know its better to run this with 5 to complete the quests. But some times you just gotta zerg content.

Assuming you are on Anathema  or Darrowshire:

I will provide a list of items you can get to make yourself a suitable tank for all the 5 mans without your group cringing at you.   Only instances mentioned are BRD which you will out leveled,  first boss in DM north which is 1 single mob pull then the guard which is 2 manable.

Do your "In Dreams" Quest line for Ornate Adamantium Breastplate

You don't even need to tank the place.   Do /who Strath   and any warlock in there if you can swoop in for the painting if they are clearing live.  Wait out the instance til they are done and tip them a few gold for the summon.

Do the quest "Incendius!" for Stalwart Clutch

Grind AV rep for Stormpike Insignia Rank 6 / Don Julio's Band / The Immovable Object / Stormpike Sage's Cloak

BRD for Force of Will / Arbiter's Blade / Shalehust Boots / Legplates of the Eternal Guardian / Golem Skull Helm / Verek's Collar (or buy Medallion of Grand Marshal Morris / Naglering

Buy Bracers of Valor / Stonegrip Gauntlets

First guard farm with a partner DM North first boss for:  Bulky Iron Spaulders

This will give you the gear you need to confidently go start spam running other 5 man instances of your choice.  A good one would be DM North runs for your cloak.  The instance in not hard, but the last guy does hit hard, so keep your trigger finger on a health potion in early gear.
