Korium 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2017 Greetings, Are the firestones working as intended? They should be giving bonus dmg to the fire spells but I can't see any difference. For example i cast immolation spell with and without firestone equipped and it deals the same dmg. Any thoughts on it? Cheers
Lifealert 19 Report post Posted January 30, 2017 My thoughts: Firestones are useless. I suggest you document your findings in a youtube video and make a bug tracker report about it.

Magrim 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 Flat fire spell power I believe came later. Warlocks are melee champs that's why we're listed as a melee class and not a spellcaster.

Yes, but we do more damage with a good wand than with a dagger :-S I think there should be some bonus for fire damage as the spell description says...
Fladrif 14 Report post Posted March 6, 2017 http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=13699 According to this database, the firestone should give bonus fire damage. There's a specific talent in demonology tree named "Improved Firestone" which "Increases the bonus fire damage from firestones (..)". If the firestone doesn't increase fire damage, it's just a bug.
Magrim 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2017 Have to check in game to see if the tool tip matches that item because I think originally they didn't have any increase in fire dmg. If so keep in mind that immolate splits that 14 dmg with the DD portion and the dot portion. So it might be hard to see a difference.
Fladrif 14 Report post Posted March 8, 2017 Firestone doesn't increase fire damage and has a very low proc rate. At the present moment, you can do more damage with a wand and that's enough to put the firestones in the Kitchen Waste Bin with "Enslave Demon". Imho, if they can't even offer some more dps than the mere stats that you get with a staff... they're useless. I think that this is a bug.
Magrim 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2017 I remember it looks cool though.
seanthecomb 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2017 it was a bug they didn't fix until 1.3 in retail. I bet Elysium accidentally copied that bug or what have you.
Fladrif 14 Report post Posted March 9, 2017 I think that Firestone + wand (fire damage) should be quite OP. I would even invest those 2 TP in the demonology tree.

It increases damage of fire spells by 21 when equipped. But its seems it doesn't work here as IMP's meele attacks.
Almighty 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2017 Yes the confusion here is that the spell information being 1.12.1 reflects the firestone giving some base spellpower , But when the conjured item appears in game that sp is missing completely with just the weapon effect being shown, same goes for the spell stone.. just the early patch gg
Holykrew 5 Report post Posted March 27, 2017 Is it 1.3.0 on Elysium? If yes " Patch 1.3.0 (2005-03-07): Equipping Firestones will now increase damage caused by fire spells." I didn't notice any difference.
