Pre 1.4 - Exalted with certain home factions & mount purchases

Recommended Posts

Hello,

After doing some research, it appears that it is impossible to reach exalted with certain factions such as the gnomes or trolls pre-1.4 & introduction of cloth donations.

Obviously this means that it is impossible to purchase the unarmoured version of these mounts unless you are of that specific race.

I understand that on Nost previously, they had the unarmoured mounts released for about a week or so after the 1.4 patch hit to allow people to turn in enough cloth and purchase the BoE versions of these mounts.

Does anyone know if this will be the case on Elysium PVP? Are there any devs or mods who would be able to shed some light on this matter?

Would just like to know if it's worth my time and effort collecting gold and rep etc for these mounts or if it's not going to happen at all

Thanks

Good. I don't want you scrubs driving our classic gnome mounts, it's for us, the gnomes.

only dwarfs or gnomes can ride them, anyway.

no its not. you just need to do certain quests while leveling. grey quests dont give enough rep.

It is not impossible. And it's 200% possible to get exalted rep of your choice by lvl 40 if you do some prior planning, from faction quests alone (not including "Alliance/Horde" universal rep quests).

ALL factions though? Maybe not. But still doable I think, if you have a player 60 or group that can boost you through all quests 1-60.

I can't speak for all factions, but i rerolled my Gnome (lv.31) mage only because i found out that you only gain rep from quests in your own level. So i started in teldrassil at level 1, cleared everything, and marked every quests so i didnt miss any, and right now im 28 with 13/21 in revered status, getting the ancient frostsaber before it swaps to swift (armored one) and youre telling elysium to hold your hand so you can turn in cloth before this happens, hehe no no. Its not impossible, theres a reason why these two changes appears in the same patch.

Looking up Darnassus, they have 255 quests for their faction. Darkspear Trolls only have 142. I've done every quest I can at the appropriate level and I only just hit revered status at level 44

On top of that, I have 42 quests available left. If we assume each one gives 250 rep (which they don't - some only give 10 rep etc) that would only be around 10-11k rep - 10k short of exalted. So how am I supposed to reach exalted with Darkspear Trolls?

On my character I've actually been doing every Troll/Tauren quest I can get to try for exalted. Atm I'm about 4 or 5 quests away from doing every Troll/Tauren rep quest outside of level 60 instance ones and for Darkspear I'm 3.5k/21k and Thunderbluff I'm 6.8k/21k (or somewhere around there).

From what I can tell pre-cloth turn in it's only possible to get exalted with Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus, and Orgrimar. Possibly Undercity but I've never checked because I couldn't care less about skele horses. Stormwind has loads of quests, same as Darnassus (fewer but still possible around level 50 I think), Ironforge has Alterac Valley to help, same with Orgrimmar.

I've been following vanillagaming's database list of Troll/Tauren quests and am currently level 50. Supposedly Horde/Ally quests are meant to give all aligned factions rep for every quest (100 Org means 25 for the other 3 Horde factions) but this isn't the case (through bug or not patched in yet). Thunderbluff would be doable pre-cloth but the repeatable rep quest for it (yeti hide) isn't in the game. So you're left with morrowgraine which is something like 75 rep for 10. So I guess it's still doable but you'd need a group effort to farm enough morrowgraine because by yourself it'd take months of constant farming to get the last 15k rep (it's a random drop, I got it 1/6 of the time so it was 1 drop per hour for me).

So currently:

Exalted Stormwind: Doable
Exalted Ironforge: Doable
Exalted Darnassus: Doable
Exalted Gnomeregan Exiles: Not Possible

Exalted Orgrimmar: Doable
Exalted Undercity: Maybe
Exalted Darkspear: Not Possible
Exalted Thunderbluff: Possible but not probable

Wasn't aware that AV wasn't in game yet. In that case Org/Ironforge might not be doable either, I've never focused on their rep due to AV always being a decent option to fill in any space left before exalted.

I really hope this happens.
