Addon to see how much memory addons are taking?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

As title says, is there any addons out there able to show what specific addons are taking up the most memory?

The closest I've gotten is PerformanceFU but that only shows everything combined and I want to see which particular addon is causing huge memory leaks.

Not possible. There was a post from an addon developer who explained why it can't be done, but can't find it right now.

If so, how come pfUI have one included for his UI which can track memory usage?

Warmup

That's a possibility but it's not what I'm looking for because;

Warmup only track the memory usage on start up which is misleading when you got addons loading databases on start up only and then proceeds into idle mode afterwards like Big Wigs, Atlasloot and so forth. The real problem is the addons which continously leak memory or their memory usage continously increase while you keep playing.

If you have got performance-issues because of addons, you should check their cpu-usage and not the memory. Anyway, I think the KLH PerformanceMonitor could do both.

It tracks total addon memory usage, it does not show which addons are using how much memory.

Have you tried KLH, I haven't managed to get it to work.

I'm having problems with "garbage collection" happening sometimes and I'm trying to figure out what addon combination is causing it.

I can't test it right now, but here is a vanilla-version with description.

That's the version I've been trying. I can communicate with it in-game but I can't get any data out of it. I don't think it's working.

It does, but you can only see total usage of all your addons combined and not each individual.

I have tried KLH and it doesn't load automatically, and when you go to load it---it errors out.

"Error:  attempt to call method `GetScript' (a nil value)
AddOn: KLHPerformanceMonitor
File: Main.lua
Line: 53
Count: 1"

Was KLH the only such addon for vanilla?

The only addon I know which can show each invidivdual addon is the one built into pfUI.

Not a super fan of prebuilt UI's, but I'll take a look, perhaps there something that I can use that is baked in to test my setup
