Missing quests?

Recommended Posts

I noticed first that there were a ton of vanilla quests in Searing Gorge that didn't seem to be available. Incendosaurs, etc. Also in Silithus there's not a single quest besides the cooking one, which I can't get to work anyway. A quick google search says these are all quests that are in the game for 1.12. So I guess I'm just curious why I can't find them in game? Is this NOT a 1.12 server, technically? Are the quests not activated?

This is a progressive server project. Each server is on a different "patch" meaning different content is enabled.

So yes, many of the quests that were implemented in later patches are not available on the servers.

Also, all of the database websites that you might be looking at will list something as being implemented in 1.11 (or occasionally 1.12) that simply means the database was first created while 1.11 was the live patch, To my knowledge there are no databases that have accurate information for pre 1.11. So you can't rely on any of the DB's to know exactly when a quest was implemented, you can look @ the comments on the bottom of a page in the database because those were merged from multiple sources that were active during early wow (thott/alakazam), sometimes they give a hint to the timeframe.

Also, sometimes I get the message "you don't meet the requirements for this quest", and the quest vanishes into thin air forever. I just had this happen. Had a quest to talk to someone in Cenarion Hold, I did, was offered a quest to kill 15 dredge strikers which I accepted -- boom -- error message, quest gone into the abyss. Cant get the quest back from her. I also had thsi happen with a few of the delivery quests from Azshara. Is that normal?

This happened to me twice.

I just got over the 40 bump and feel like many quests in that range are not around. Its a very grindy period for me right now due to that.

I just hit 60 last week and I can say I did not run out of quests. This was on Elysium. But a bunch were missing...

I really want the melee trinket one at Hinterlands and I miss the quests out at Silithus.

Ya i was disappointed when I couldn't get that trinket too. Just got to searing gorge and I love that place for all the quests was looking forward to taking like all 10 and doing them at once and turning them all in at same time but there were only like the 3 quests...

That's early WoW for you.  They designed the game to still be a grind but have quests available so it wasn't a total grind.  Most people will need to grind at some point on their way to 60 unless they do dungeons along the way.

I did Incendosaurus quest some days ago, so its there.

From my experience (had that requirements BS as well), some quests require higher level that its meant to be. Come back some levels later and quest will be there.
