So that hunters can't solo him.

Completely un-blizzlike, yes, but hunters soloing DM N was disrupting the economy, what with the shitloads of gold they were generating, driving the price of everything up.

Why do you even compare an infinite DM farm with a player-made devilsaur cartel?

Those are completely different things. It's only right that they fixed the DM farm, but they shouldn't do anything about the cartel.

I was referring to the comments "disrupting the economy"

Hunters were able to farm DN North in the way they were on live legacy servers, just like a "cartel" could be made on live legacy servers.

both "Blizzlike" however one gets unblizzlike nrfed and the other is given the green light.

Oh my god you guys are actually retarded.

No gold is being generated in Un'goro.

Gold is being generated in DM:N. And in an unlimited amount of instances.

Today you learned.

The total amount of gold on the server stays the same. Un'Goro does not generate gold.

The total amount of gold goes up when people farm DM:North. Because the profit is from vendoring the items.

Today you learned.

When you vendor tribute drops, gold is created for the in-game economy (which can lead to inflation). When a group of players artificially control the price of devilsaur leather, it's just the transfer of gold that already exists in the economy (no inflation).

"Fixed" it by making it different from how it was on retail, and from how it was supposed to work? Can't believe they did this (I never play hunter and am so not affected by this nonsense, but this is so damn arbitrary). And it's 'fixes' like this that make the server unstable as the team clearly slowly loses control of the code base while focusing on crap like this, and spam filters.

What are you talking about? Raising prices to at least twice of what they would be (devilsaur) is not inflation? It's maybe localized for only one market, but nevertheless. Some wannabe economists appear to declare as money infusion as the only source of inflation, which is utter nonsense.

The difference is that the team is apparently ok with a few people bullying around the many and having many pay more than they should for an item you could otherwise farm; whereas it minds some hunters making some extra gold. You need to be blinded with fanboy-ism to nod to such arbitrary and totally unnecessary changes from a 'blizz-like' experience.

Increasing price of a single item is not "inflation", that's supply and demand. The issue is that the supply is being monopolized by a single group who then jacks the price up because there's no competition.

Inflation is an increase of price for EVERYTHING, not just one item.

And yet you accuse other people of being "wannabe economists", top fucking kek

If you're so knowledgeable about the "right" way to run a private server, go ahead and start your own. :)
