I got hacked 2 times !

Hello.. I logged into the game on Tuesday 14th february and i saw that my gold was gone.. wtf? i had like around 30 gold and then i had 50 silver left ! i was offline for 2 days.. i dont know wtf was going on.. i was close before reaching 40. my last Login before was Sunday the 12th February around 4pm (16:00 CET). Then i tried to contact a GM ingame and in the forum, both did not work. I tried to reset my Password on clicking "send me the reset password email" i did not reseived an email so i couldnt change my password.. I level'ed a bit further to 41~ the Week and gave my gold to a friend to store it. TODAY (18th february) i logged in after 2 days, and now EVERY CHARACTER ON MY ACCOUNT IS NAKED AND WITH ZERO MONEY ! wtf ??? guys PLEASE  help me :( i investes so much time in this server so far..

You should change your password when possible, but your should most definitely enable 2FA so that the haXX0r stops capwning you.

isn't there a chance to get my gear back?? i mean i can't even reset my fucking password cause i get the password reset email, i click on the fucking link in that email and it immediatly sends me back to the page where i can request an email for my password reset.. i dont get it..

:C GMs don't really recover hacked items unless they are important unique quest items.  You have to log out of the CP to change the password.

Okay ty.. pw is changed now but it has to be possible to recover my gear.. it can't be that hard or am i wrong?

Won't do it, if they had to do this they would be spending hours handling tickets/reports/topics, verifying the information, and restoring the items based on the negligence of the acct. owner to secure their acct.

Not hard maybe, but you're not the only one that wants your stuff back. It has to be done manually by someone and that would take a lot of time doing it for 100 toons. So, as they say, account security is your responsibility.

fml.. i hate that shit.. i tried to reset my pw over the week and i didnt get an email to do that.. this point is not my fault i would say.. but yeah.. doesn't have a 2fa is my fault thats true..

Np.  Their e-mail client was having trouble a few days ago and was offline for maintenance or something so maybe it was during that.  Whitelist their e-mail and always check spam folder, that's the only advice I can give.

ELYSIUM won't restore your shit nor your gold.

See, the fail is yours because YOU FAILED to set up 2FA back when people could get mail from elysium with no issues EVEN THOUGH you got spammed in game EVERY 5 FUCKING MINUTES telling you to SET UP 2FA NOW.

You also FAILED to come up with a reasonably secure password in the first place so you wouldn't get hacked. Vast majority of the playerbase out there have been playing WoW for years and years in different private server projects and were never hacked, even with no 2FA available, b/c they used a unique and secure account name and password.

I actually don't know if I got hacked. My Mainchar lost all his items but my Bankchar with Gold and Mats was untouched. Still hope this is a kind of technical issue and there is a chance to get the important items back. Still looking for the right place to get help.

Even if it was a technical issue you still won't get your shit back b/c a/p elysium policy they won't restore your shit irrespective of the reason why you lost it in the first place.

It doesn't matter if it was a haXX0r, an ACT OF GOD, a typhoon or server fail. Read the TOS.

The account owner is responsible for the security of the account and that it's sufficiently protected. Note that Elysium staff does not recover hacked accounts.

Elysium staff will not recover any lost or deleted characters, regardless of circumstances.

Game items such as experience, gold or equipment that you have lost through accident, very rare failure of the server, or otherwise, cannot be restored

I'm interested in how you may have been hacked. General questions here:

1. Have you used the same password or username on any other private server before? Which one(s)?

2. Was it a simple password or did it Adhere to strong password principles? (At-least: one capital letter, one numeric, one special character? 8+ characters in length?)

3. Did you download any add-ons from this forum or from another site?

4. Where did you download your WoW client from? Did you use the link provided on Elysium's website or elsewhere? If elsewhere - what resource did you use?

Feel free not to answer any of the above, but I'm interested in what may be going on with all the hacked accounts as oppose to simply dismissing it as having used the same password/username as some other server.

I am curious too how so many people are having their accounts compromised.  Seems to me like the only way to get hacked is have an easily guessed p.w like 1234, your computer has been compromised with a key logger, or a database that stores your p.w has been compromised.

It's quite a small amount given that from their recent tweet, nearly 190000 unique players have logged in since Feb 1.

No doubt Alex and his flock of sheep will be claiming they are mostly gold spammers.

Well I played online poker for 12 years and watched the poker forums all the time and out of millions of players maybe only 5 a year or so had their account info hacked.  It's the same kind of login/security as this server in that all you needed to login was an acct name and p.w.  Virtually no one used an authenticator.  Makes no sense why hacking pws seems to occur on elysium so often when the monetary gain is so low (and 200k users is small compared to the millions of poker accounts) compared to poker players account balances which on average would have  $1k+.
