Hello all,

I've been recently looking for group in general/LFG/World chat for a tank. I had a macro i would use once every 4 or 5 minutes that simply said. LF tank ULDA 40+ then gtg. I cannot whisper anymore, talk in any channels. Besides Guild and Party chat. I've logged out for 15 minutes. Left every channel and rejoined. Is there a chat ban? if so how do i go about getting it unbanned? Thanks all

There might be a bug or some such as this, I've read other people on the forums saying that world chats are down. It could be locked for everyone, if you weren't spamming no automation should  have gotten you. Good luck friend

We have an anti-spam/flood system in the game, to combat gold sellers, if you spam the same text over and over in quick succession, it can pick you up and mute you for an hour.

If it doesn't come off, you can PM a GM and have them investigate it.

In my... unfortunate experience, it happens either 2 ways.  First if you spam chat too quickly.  Secondly if you spam any message in tells or public channels that are identical or close to identical.  So saying the same exact message to 4 tanks you looked up in a row to invite to a party will flag you as a possible gold spammer.

Not sure how long it lasts.  1h maybe.

EDIT: Ah Jakira beat me to it.

So what we have to do when whispering people is just use a slightly different message each time?

Their anti-spam system seems to create a fair amount of false positives, but - in my experience - not based on frequency of shout-outs as much as based on using certain keywords. I wish I could tell you which - I believe avoiding stand-alone numbers is a good idea, but might be wrong (numbers certainly don't always lead to issues as "sold for 800g" usually seems ok). When this happened to me, i killed the client, cleaned the wdb folder, and logged back in to see the issue gone. I don't know if I was just lucky, but it's worth a try.
