Vommy 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 I'm on the E server and connecting at times is horrible. I'm moving my group(Wife, and friends +3 same side) to another server. What do I need to do to make this happen other than making a new character? I will donate to make this happen!!!!
Vommy 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 Transfer process please?
quest008 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 DDoS attacks can be some of the hardest things to mitigate. It is much easier to start a DDoS attack than to block it due to the nature of the worldwide internet architecture. Now that you understand that, you can stop whining. Play CounterStrike or something while Elysium is down.
2blivion 3 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 i'm in the same boat already rolled on Anethema... i prefer Elysium by a longshot and already spent days on a charachter there so it kinda sucks to start over but it seems like whoever is responsible for these stupid ddos attacks has a vendetta against the Elysium server for some reason

However, you are free to reroll (start new characters) on other servers while keeping the old ones, but since it is a DDoS attack on the login servers, these will also have login problems - so that won't solve anything!

Vommy 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 DDOS attacks can be easier to mitigate than you think, if you have the right tools and experience. I'm the Heavy I.T. hitter for a multi million dollar company in the USA with 350+ live public facing servers. We are constantly getting hit from all over the globe. Are your attacks coming from inside the US or Outside? I'm assuming your partially cloud based, more over what is the maturity level of your cloud providers. Some thoughts would be blocking other countries against threat vectors completely, Flip switches for ping, telnet, and all those nifty tools you use(Turning them on and off willy nilly so DDOS won't affect those ports). Shit this is turning into a audit, LOL. Aside from the audit, so if we donate more, you wouldn't do transfers?

Does your "multi million dollar company" benefit from your audit process that involves a few firewall changes. You cannot block traffic for entire countries when you host a server handing traffic globally.
Vommy 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 (edited) Sure you can. I write rules for Fortinet, Cisco and Palo Alto. Shit, if you pay for the support contracts they will write the rules for you. Just because you don't know how to do it doesn't mean it can't be done. Even better since I'm at work and am monitoring a DDOS live from Russia right now, I'll take a screen shot and post it up here so you can learn. Chroot 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 (edited) 5 minutes ago, Vommy said: Shit give me min, not easy loading screen shots on here. Don't waste your time. I am not going to learn anything from streams of traffic coming in. I work in cloud migrations and IaaS. I know about DDoSes, how to mitigate them, and when people whip up screenshots. If Elysium is using a cloud host, they could implement a blackhole for the time being. They also could invest in doing some IDS and traffic backoff for malacious traffic. No one is protected 100% against DDoS. Edited March 2, 2017 by Chroot spelling, upload a screenshot of how to spell maybe. :)
Vommy 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2017 (edited) Yes your right, but you can minimize the impact. That's why it's called mitigation and you obviously sound like you need to learn some new tricks because of your smartass responses. Yes, their are people that know more and can do more than you. Wow, it's like i'm talking to one of my bookworm junior engineers. Edited March 2, 2017 by Vommy

You wanna chat off the forums so these stupid trolls can stop posting things they have no idea about, we can move forward with your problem.
