[Addon][BG] Strategos

Hello everyone!

here is the prototype of an addon I'm developing, it should be stable enough, but there are no settings or command line options at this time.

Download

Features:

• Enhanced World Map/Battlefied Minimap
  • raid members are colored according to their current health
  • Warsong Gulch friendly flag carry is highlighted
  • Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley capture timers (click to annouce)
  • Arathi Basin 30yd flag indicators
  • Highlight currently targeted raid member
• Warsong Gulch
  • Show flag carriers names near world status (upper part of the screen, click to target)
  • Flag cariers low health warning in BattleGround chat

Any feedback is welcome, feel free to suggest new features.

Forgot to mention that on non-english clients some features will not work, anyone willing to help with other localizations is welcome.

Like your addon, testing in WSG atm. No errors so far. Sometimes a flag-carrier isn't recognized after someone drop the flag.

A few suggestions:

- options as you mentioned, a way to turn off features

- timerbars for bg-starts, resets, capture etc

- shortcuts to announce something quickly, like "Tunnel inc" "efc roof" etc

I didn't noticed such issue so far, are you playing horde?

Only when you join a started WSG the current enemy flag carrier should be missing. The allied flag carrier should be found even in that case.

If you happens to see a wrong carrier name, be sure you've downloaded the last version of the addon and not the one tagged "prototype-release".

you were right, I've found the issue and fixed it.

Those are sure going to be added in the future, but I'm not happy with the current code, though it works, it would be hard to hard to maintain as more features are added, so I'll need some time to reorganize it before adding them...

At the moment I can't think of anything that a macro couldn't already achieve, it would save up some space in you action bars though. I thing other features will take higher priority for that and other reasons.

Currently using BGAssist (continued) which does most of your stuff and has some additional features, not complete and not bugfree though. Almost perfect was the bg-module from La Vendetta Boss Mods aka Deadly Boss Mods.

I'm still (slowly) making progress with code improvements before adding more features, anyway the core features of Strategos are the minimap enhancements, which BGAssist doesn't have.

Your addon is really good. People often ask me about the name of the bg addon im using.

I achieved everything possible in retail rbgs, always needed addons like this, but i think i like your addon the most.

Keep up the good work!
