Farming - Enh or Ele?

^Topic. What is better for farming stuff at 60, Ele or Enh?

 

Really only for Demonic Runes, since those are BoP, meaning that I have to farm them on my Shaman. I'm currently farming satyrs as Elemental (for demonic runes), and it's working out somewhat well. I kill them really quickly, but have to sit and drink every 5 or 6 mobs, depending on crit RNG.

 

Would Enhancement be faster? I don't particularly have a whole lot of gear for it, and I'm not sure my weapon (Sorcerous Dagger) is really suited to Enhancement either.

Mm, tried out Enhancement a bit with what little gear I had + some agi/str gear from the AH, and while it worked well, it was a lot more annoying to play. The "Trickster" satyrs have a melee damage reduction curse, so I had to constantly worry about keeping Grounding Totem down to avoid it. Killing was slower overall, and I still had to drink every 8 or 9 mobs.

 

I think I'll just stick to Ele, when it comes to farming these Satyrs. More gear for it, and much easier playstyle.

Id farm it 1h enh tbh with a good 1h like doom's edge and a high armor shield.  windfuries for around 1.5k-2k total and you'll have 5k+ armor.  Good damage, very good sustain, and very little downtime (practically none).

Yeah, I don't have any good 1hs, and with how many rogues/warriors are in the raid group, it's highly unlikely that I'll get one any time soon.

If you farm for Demonic Runes without help from someone else or with the assistance of an alt, they quickly become your most expensive consumable. I'd say Ele would probably be slightly better because of the gear crossover. If you have good Enh gear, probably that then.

They're BoP. You have to farm them on your main.

 

And since dark runes are practically nonexistent on the AH, I have no other choice, outside of Night Dragon's Breath, of which I already have over 90 of those.

 

Since my guild only raids mon/tues/wed, that leaves thur/fri/sat/sun to respec and farm for runes. With about 3 hours of farming, I managed to get 16 of them. The place is so heavily farmed though, and the drop rate is atrocious. On average, I'd get one rune every 25-35 kills.

You can set a party to FFA and loot on only one toon... as I did for many years.

It's not as if having a second account is hard to accomplish on private servers.

If the drop rate is low and the areas farmed out, it's probably better to farm Dark Runes in a party in Scholo.

So putting main and alt into a party, setting FFA, putting them both in the satyr area, killing things on alt, then switching to main to loot every rune drop? Seems like a pretty obnoxious hassle.

 

And Dark Rune drops in Scholo seem pretty rare. Usually only 1 or 2 drops per run. And you always have that shithead mage or even warlock, rolling need on them. And that instance in general is fucking obnoxious to heal.

You use 2 accounts. Put both toons in a party, Warrior works the best, and loot only on the Shaman. WF+Cleave everything to death.

No, you can't. Doesn't matter if you're multiboxing using different machines or a single one.
