Thorium Shield Spike Damage

I am not 100% if this is a bug so I didn't start a bug tracker for it, however I am concerned with Thorium Shield Spike damage.

 

The MOST I've seen it return damage for it 20 damage, and 16 damage on the bottom end.    I went to lowbie zones to test on level 5 caster mobs, and usually did 19 damage.     Though this spike is to return 20-30 damage.

Seeing as I am getting the same damage range of 16-20 in PVP, level 5 mobs, level 60 high armor mobs, I am concerned that the Thorium Shield Spike spell ID is set to the same as the Mithril Shield spike of 16-20 damage.

 

If anybody else can confirm they are experiencing the same results, I will start a bug tracker.

Are you taking into account the defensive stance modifier? Also, if it deals physical damage there is a chance of being affected by armor.

I have data from some strat runs i did, if you consider the average damage being 25 and the average damage reduction from armor being 35%, you have 25*0.9*(1-0.35) = 14.6, which is pretty close to 13, considering that 147 is not a significantly large sample size.

One way to test it for sure is by having a druid with tank gear beating on you in caster form w/ 5 sunders (next to 0 armor) and then beating you in bear form to see if armor contribution is taken into account.

This is the same for battle stance while I am farming.

Also like in OP, I've tested this on low end mobs as well.  The damage range appears to match Mirthil Spike.

on the topic of shield spikes, I've noticed that dying with a shield equipped means that after you respawn, you no longer have the shield spike "buff" unless you take off and re-equip your shield
