Wrath of Cenarious

Recommended Posts

Hello Paladins,

I wanted to talk about this item
http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=21190#wh-comments

This ring looks like it might be Amazing for Prot/shockadins/Ret Paladins. Does any one know if this can proc off of Seal of Righteousness, and Judgement of Righteousness?
People say 5% proc chance, With a 1.5 attack speed weapon (Flurry Axe) and that the buff would last for 10 seconds. Would Consecrate proc the buff??

Would the Spell proc on weapons cause this to proc also? Things like Fiery, Lifestealing, (Badlands Fire aoe proc)

For a prot paladin with "Holy Shield, Consecrate, Seal of Rightous, spell procs" I would say this has to be in the realm of 100% up time.

I am trying to work on that quest very hard , need people to test it.

Remember Harmfull spells land should be : JoC,JoR,HoW,Exorcism,Holy Shock.

Seals are excluded since they are passive.

For Prot is not that good , for Retribution - depend , for Holyshock is good.

/Kind regards Killerduki

it procs off of AoE spell ticks Duki aka Consecration so it would be OP as fuck for Prot Paladins:

I use this ring, and it has improved my DPS in raids immensely. I would judge the proc rate on this to be 5%, and it will refresh itself in AoE situations, such as using Hellfire in Core Hound packs. It took me from ~10th in the damage meters when I didn't use it, to 1st, until the hound packs when the mages violated me :(

No, there is no cooldown, this ring can trigger multiple times during a single AOE attack. If the ring triggers when its already active, its 10 second timer starts again and it keeps working.

So I just wanted to check in with you guys about this ring. Got it today and it's absolute crap. Will almost never proc, definitely isn't proccing with consecrate and the damage increase is very marginal. Kind of fun for aoeing down like 15+ non elite undead in the plaguelands but even at that it isn't at all necessary. Would not recommend farming this haha. Only saving grace about this whole thing is that I can get an earthstrike now :P

if it isn't proccing from consecrate can you write up a bug report please - because AoE should definitely trigger it

Theloras I'm not so sure consecrate aoe does though because at least from what I can gather from a few google searches, blizzard and hellfire seemed to be the big aoe spells that proc it. Each of them is a channeled aoe spell where as consecrate is just constant aoe damage. Other channeled spells like arcane missles and mind flay also seem to proc it with each damage tick so maybe there's something there. Oh one other thing I could mention is that when I had like 15+ mobs on me, my force reactive disk or my shield spike or something very very very rarely was proccing it. Maybe it did work for paladins in vanilla but I can't seem to find any information that helps our case :(

This ring is not a ring you should be wearing all the time - assuming you have other rings with fixed +spell damage to switch to. This ring is excellent for AoE, but it also rocks immensely for Affliction Warlocks - the proc chance works for every instant DoT spell, and the +damage scales really well with the DoTs too.

if DoTs trigger the proc then so should Consecration

Wrath of Cenarius proc isn't triggered by Consecration

FYI for those who already have or are thinking of getting the Wrath of Cenarius ring from Silithus quests:

This is not an issue with Consecration, this items interaction with every spell needs to be reviewed.

How it currently works:
Direct damage: procs once.
Damage over time: procs once.
Channeled direct damage (Arcane Missiles): procs once.
AoE: doesnt proc.

How it should work:
Direct damage: procs once.
Damage over time: Most sources say only procs once.
Channeled direct damage: procs on every hit.
AoE: From the sources it seems this was initially bugged and didnt proc but it was later fixed to proc on every single hit.

Glad you were able to find more information. I was really sure it procced multiple times on AM when my friend and I tested it in vanilla (he was the one with the ring).
