Nonserviam 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2017 hello i am new to this server and i can't decide which class to roll. i am going for the pve realm, i am thinking of horde but not 100% sure yet and i can't decide between mage and lock. at 60 they both seem the same spam bolt style but overall is there anything else that should make a class better than the other or even more wanted by the guilds and ppl etc? thx for your time
Xuno 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2017 Mage is more wanted by groups and guilds. Mages bring strong dps, amazing cc, and free food and portals. Mages are easily the most welcome dps in any group. Mage is also the best class for solo farming. There's more Mages than Warlocks though, especially on Alliance, so competition is fierce. Warlocks are MUCH easier to level than Mages. And as I said Warlocks are quite scarce on Alliance so that should make you more wanted. And yes both classes spam bolt. Mage has the odd decurse. Warlock has infinite mana.

Wrathran 4 Report post Posted April 19, 2017 Both are awesome and always wanted in groups and raids. The warlock is much more rare so it's probably easier to find a raid-guild as warlock for that reason.

I was always mana drained when I attempted to level a lock Use taunt on vw manually to not drain his mana too fast. Kill 2 mobs at once fear one dotted drain and lifetap on the tanked one, ideally you should be 60-90%hp after and 90+% on mana and double pulls take around 20s kill per mob and you go nonstop. Requires much more attention than aoe mage leveling or hunter sendpet autoshot to win leveling but you can level just as fast.

Applejax 2 Report post Posted April 19, 2017 Locks are much better for new people since they have a tanking pet that can keep you alive. Mages are fun, but they are the true glass cannon and can die quickly if you are inexperienced. Both classes are fun to play though.

Shield novas blinks sheep they can kite and survive and solo elites like no other class. While warlocks pet cant tank shit sorry its not like hunters pet their threat is bad and if you put 3 dots on a mob your VW will not hold aggro. So no mages are much better for new players
