I made a thing, Comprehensive AQ40 Video Guide.

I decided to make a guide that covered every aspect of AQ40 from consumables, to the trash, to the mechanics of the bossfight using old Kronos(lul) footage that I had lying around. I tried to make sure to cover every aspect, but inevitably I missed some important things, like Skeram's Earth Shock and I was long-winded and verbose during the beginning but I tightened up the information towards the end. It's not perfect and I've never done it before, but it at least gives some semblance of what to expect in AQ40 when it's released, or at least a refresher.

Which I make very clear from the beginning, but the general mechanics are the same. Whether they'll work that way on this server, who knows.

Having done this in Vanilla Retail as well, it really wasn't much different, outside of damage values.

using another private server as a test bed for strategy guides is not an accurate depiction of those fights or how they were.

each server does things differently (hell even elysium does it differently with low CD fear on onyxia) you would have to tailor the strategy guide to the server itself @Talesavo.  the best way to create a strategy guide or "how to" would be to use retail footage or pictures depicting how it was back then.  then from there, you just tailor the details to whichever project you're playing on. this is the same reason why the retail version of bigwigs does not work on elysium or Kronos because it's completely different. the addon creator has to make a bigwigs version specific to the project to be 100% accurate. same goes for the strategy guides.

 

when AQ comes out and you clear it a few times, create a guide specific to elysium. 

for example: (on elysium, Twin Emperors teleport is wonky and do not pause for 2s, this will negate the possibility of doing the close proximity threat transfer strategy from retail).

small bug/issue with the server can sometimes nullify a retail strategy that's used.  even buffed HP on mobs, increased damage on mobs or any adjustment to the encounter can change the retail strategy from how it was.

but again, if elysium is gonna tune things up, you have to account for that change.

Thanks for the post.   Always good for a refresher even if you've done it before.

Will allow people have havn't done it at least get good detail on a per pull basis to limit the "I"m new" anxiety.

The +Frost Damage For Vis, I know Nost considered + elemental damage as physical, are you sure about it not working here?

Just watched the entire video.  Excellent guide at refreshing us on what to expect!  Definitely found this useful even though it's Kronos.  Good luck!
