Snide's END GAME MT TPS Guide for EXPERIENCED Tanks

Recommended Posts

What you crit on a low armor target vs a high armor target differs.

The title is END GAME TPS.  Molten Core is not endgame.

The heroic strike damage was done with Thunderfury, which would be the END GAME BiS TPS weapon as well.

Imp SW and Imp taunt are not needed for MC, but for later instances they are critical to success.

Omfg how ignorant are you? End game is what's currently available on the damn server. We are talking about ELYSIUM PVP Patch (1.3). Its like saying that there is no endgame on private servers implying that only retail has endgame.

I looked over your realmplayer logs and we have people doing more dps then you guys are on your current patch with all the worldbuffs and better gear. I mean you're clearly only a good source of information when it comes to standard tanking mechanics that litterly everyone knows off. Not END GAME TPS for Experienced tanks which this forum post is about.

I've tanked everything before and Imp SW and Imp Taunt are never "critical to success" they are at most saftey nets for when your raid fuck something up. even if you miss your taunt you still got challenging shout and mocking blow to cover for it for almost EVERY instance it ever misses. And on bosses like four horseman you're screwed anyway regardless if you got the IMP taunt or not.

With your values on realmplayers you wouldn't be able to MT in my guild. You're simply not doing enough threat. Please come back here after you've actually tried hardcore speedrunning since right now you're talking from a progression perspective or just clearing shit at a slow pace which is totally unintressting for a player like me or snide.

I'd go see a large fish in Zul'Gurub about a trinket if I were you.

I'm well aware there are items to help out on that fight. I just meant that if you miss a taunt IMP taunt won't help you. He compared it to something critical like its impossible to play without it. I don't understand that reasoning at all.

no one here besides the ones actually doing this at current patch have any perspective so we cannot really deny or confirm what they are saying is accurate or inaccurate until you have tested it for yourself and in your own raiding environment until that point in time you have no knowledge of what works or what doesn't.

and even though this is supposed to give you a rough idea of what to do to achieve this you are still going to have to "tailor" the raid to suit your pace and find what works for your raid.

This is what works for his current raiding setup.

A word of advice - Take all guides with a pinch of salt and test things for yourself and find what works for your raid and for you personally.

This guy gets it. the second patch 1.4-1.5 hits everything will be changed. Some guilds maybe never have an issue with threat since their dpser aren't using every single consumable and buff possible with the BIS gear to ever have a problem. I can tell you that me and snide do have that problem, We do not want to limit our best players. If they ever have to worry about aggro i'm sure there is something we can do better.

Looking at undertankers raid stats you can easily see that his guild has never done anything impressive other then just clear content. And are probably the reason why he speaks from a progression view. Most of us in our guild has already cleared everything before. And we're just intressted in clearing shit as fast as possible. Which actually do make content more diffucult and opens up alot of new fun tactics etc.

There are always something that can be improved and thats the reason for this guide. And i think it fits its purpose

Wanting to clear asap is a good incentive but this guide does not provide the answer to getting the most possible tps in current patch.

There is no clear answer to that. He gives a pretty good guidlines towards doing as much TPS as possible tho. If you have something to add please do. I just don't like these kind of comments where someone goes: What he says is wrong. without telling why.

I'm not here to analyse his video. The threat title makes you expect something and the included guide does not meet these expectations.
It's up to the OP to review what went wrong. Quickest solution would be changing the title of this thread.

Rename you thread as said above. Most of its information are valid/arguable for MC/ZG/BWL content and patches. As this is not a sub forum dedicated to 1 realm but rather to an entire class, it currently has wrong statements on most of the important matters (such as Talents which are completely different for the real end game content and depending on available gear).

- "END GAME" can be misleading. One can consider end game to be the last 2 raid tiers of the game or just all the 40 man raids depending on pov.

- Remove "EXPERIENCED tanks". It serves no purpose and I'm quite sure most really experienced tanks would not 100% agree with most of what's in the guide.

Something like "Snide's TPS Guide for MC/BWL/ZG." would be way more accurate to what it is and clearer for everyone. Or funnier like "Snide's Compendium of Threat Building in MC."

PS : Loled at the guy evaluating TPS epeen with tank dmg done to bosses on an inaccurate website x)

This thread reeks of warriors with the "alpha male" main tank mentality trying to puff out their chests for attention.

Well ofcourse, that's MainTanking-101.

We're deeply flawed, autismo individuals who compensate our poor real life social skills with being badass keyboard-warriors:D

I think this discussion isnt worth, many gave constructive criticsm , why it isnt a good guide.

Snide tried on his perspective to make a good guide, i guess. not to decrease the the whole tank comunity are worse then him and doing complete wrong. ( i hope)

i think hes doing a good job on his raid ( like he did before at GRIZZLY aswell, from what i heared), so i dont agree aswell 100% with his guide, but some things are good some are could improved or not.

im pretty sure that the Tanks which have a lack of TPS,  still can get some good information what they could try to improve and nontheless evry tank still has its own way how to play and how to improve  its own gameplay.

and for real , 90% of the tanks which suck on its one or other thing how to tank, will never use that forum. to improove their selfs.
