Milen 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2017 Hi! My name is Daniel and my character name that I played is an undead warlock called Milen (lvl38). Like 10 minutes ago I got banned for typing the same message to a guy who advertises websites that sells gold. The only thing I did write after my message: "Warning: I'm only lvl 10 and everybody knows it's fake". Sorry it was a bad joke but I hate them(:P). I really look forward to make an agreement with you guys. Thank you!
Hudson 16 Report post Posted June 27, 2017 Our anti-spam feature is a script, and thus has no sense of humor. Submit a ban appeal in the ban appeals section to get your account unbanned.

It's amazing how much effort they put in to selling gold. Just doesn't seem like it would be worth it or that they could really profit much from it being that most sellers and buyers get banned so quick and frequently.

The issue is since the characters doing the spamming are relatively high level (at least level 10), they're generally compromised accounts that the gold spammers really don't care about since they've already stripped 'em clean. What I'm wondering is why the developers haven't yet managed to automatically ban players who post in public chat (world, trade, etc) with non-default colors. Only time I see those messages are either system messages or gold seller spam.
Thari 15 Report post Posted July 7, 2017 We have anti spam measures that take care of the goldspammers. However, they just create new accounts and characters over and over and bot them to level 10. If you honestly think you can stop them permanently, you are plain naive. We simply don't have the time to put all our focus on them, there are way more issues to resolve, players to help, players to investigate as GM.

Agreed since accounts are free, if they accounts cost a dollar amount to purchase (which would affect server population of course and is not ideal) it could kill them off and increase their hacking efforts.
Stodola 26 Report post Posted July 7, 2017 Maybe so, but consider that gold selling is an RMT transaction, the players who are stupid enough to buy gold would be funding in part the making of those accounts. Plus there are still way too many players that dont have 2FA set up. This is just crazy when you consider the time and effort players invest into their characters. To lose all that and have to start over because you didn't have 2FA? Not worth it. But still they don't. Ultimately, the staff have to focus their attention and time on those aspects of RMT where it is the most effective and will do the most good.
