MC'ing people out of BG

Was guarding flag earlier in a WSG when a rogue killed me as I fought other people. I res'd in the graveyard and was immediately sapped into a mind control helm and promptly ran out of the bg portal. This took away not only a likely win, but gave me deserter buff. This wasted half an hour of my time.

I submitted a GM ticket and 3 hours later was told there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. The GM also taunted me when I said "I am stunned" by replying "At least your not mind controlled".

While this is kind of funny and I was mega trolled, I have to wonder why on earth this is acceptable both in game abuse and the GM abuse and rude responses. Before you laugh at me, think about if it was you. I was told not to be near the portal...I was res'd in the graveyard! This seems like an open and shut case of abusive in game behavior but instead I was trolled by a GM. I have all screenshots of conversation.

Does the community think this is acceptable? It is hard enough to rank in PVP while working full time...let alone when I try to que a few times I get ran out of a battleground via mindcontrol and get a deserter buff...

Mindcontrolling out via the portal is not against the Terms of Use and therefore not sanctionable behavior.

It doesn't matter what the community thinks because an actual fix for this issue would be to just disable the portal entirely as its use isn't along the lines of its original implementation. "Acceptability" isn't a factor at all in this conversation, rather the question should be "Can and/or will the devs disable the portal's functionality?"

Alright, sorry to bring it up. I will just never battleground again or talk on forums. Lesson learned, also never submitting gm ticket again.

Don't take it personally dude. This community has rocks for brains. So much arguing over "blizzlike" shit that they 100% ignore things like this that are obviously exploits and/or unintended behavior that Blizzard themselves just never got around to fixing.

Don't worry though, they had plenty of time to make non blizzlike changes to specific dungeons to prevent a single class from solo farming it.

They cherry pick blizzlike behaviors and call it a day.

Is there a retail video from 2004-2006 where you see this behavior? I have never been mindcontrolled out of a bg before playing on Elysium.

Or were people in retail just less crackbrained?

Unfortunately using Mind Control or the engineering Mind Control Cap to remove players out of a Battleground is allowed.

It is not an exploit and working as intended. The portals were introduced for players to leave the Battleground due to missing knowledge of the /AFK function to remove yourself from a Battleground back in Vanilla, using an ability to remove players out of a Battleground due to the portals and Mind Control is clever use of game mechanics.

We are one of the very few private servers in the world that did almost very accurate loot table and spell coefficient adjustments, to have both on the most blizzlike level.

If you don't get as much gold out of your Dire Maul East farm as on other private servers, you are just used to farm on broken servers.

 

Players that say we 'nerfed' farming methods usually say that when we actually fix them.

One exception is the Dire Maul Tribute change on the endboss, where you can debate if you want hunters to solo it for a massive gold farm, or if you want to prevent it. However, this change is not made by us, it's from Nostalrius.
