szuszak 2 Report post Posted August 27, 2017 removing grey items from petals in DM E and changing drop rates of herbs from petals(not 100% sure but it feels like it was done) and not fixing the dmg type on them from physical to shadow was a mistake normally dm e farm would be one of the good places to farm but with removal of grey items and lowering the herb drops from petals dm is just a waste of time for ppl that are trying to farm gold - mages will go farm dm n , so will druids , warlocks have to do open world farming (even when dm e was profitable the petals were doing Physical dmg instead of Shadow so it was still difficult for a lock to farm that place which was a bug) same goes for priests and shamans they have to find another place to farm gold but more than the gold farm - dm e was providing stead stream of all types of herbs into the economy that was separate from spawn times and map locations it was normalizing the prices on consumables and what was the best part it had options build into it - if you wanted you could just farm it and sell all the herbs on auction house , but you had an option to only sell grey items and trash herbs and keep other herbs for your own consumables or craft potions and sell them to ppl or give them to your guildies or keep for yourself with removal of grey items dm e is no longer farmed - with that single change you removed big portion of herb source and farming options for 70% of the server population the argument for that change was that you wanted to limit how much gold can gold farmers make - but that argument was flawed in the 1st place - farmers will farm regardless of the spot - brd arena farm+elite pull will make way more money than dm e could ever give you - same with dm n farm since you have chance of getting good green/epic items as well good amount of leather if you are a skinner , of course that is for mages ONLY i personally have couple toons and one of them iis very decently geared mage that i can easily make all the gold i need for the consumables farming brd arena+2elite pulls or if im bored of that i go to dm n and kill the 1st boss+hayenas+bugs , but there are ppl on the server that dont have mages and that are lacking a farming spot and lets be honest here if we are worried about chinese gold farmers - im 100% sure they will keep on farming dm n , because its hands down the most profitable farming spot and dm e just can't compete with it i think you should reconsider the changes that were made to DM E petal farming - it will give multiple more classes and option of gold income that they currently DON'T HAVE AT ALL - it will provide steady stream of mid tier herbs/potions to auction house that is unaffected by the OVERPOPULATION - it is the only place with this type of farming - where you can choose if the items you farm will be turned into gold OR if they are turned into consumables THAT CAN BE SOLD/USED BY YOURSELF OR GIVEN TO YOUR FRIENDS/GUILDIES
Shayss 43 Report post Posted August 27, 2017 I disagree. I think the removal was an excellent idea to combat insane inflation. Dont get me wrong, there are other places to farm, but if u want an example of what happens to a server where this isn't nerfed then check Anathema where the change came in too late.
Caber 4 Report post Posted August 28, 2017 What's wrong with inflation? I'd rather everyone has 10x the gold because static gold sinks are a thing in WoW. If it was easy to make 80g per hour, it would be a lot more bearable to pay 15g for a 50% repair, is what I'm saying. or 30g for the arcanum. Or respec costs, which were of course halved, but still.
QQsya 4 Report post Posted August 28, 2017 Haven't they told us over and over that gold sellers get most of their gold from hacked/compromised accounts? That means this is yet another nonsensical change that only screws over legitimate players while doing nothing to decrease the amount of gold in the underground economy. The actual way to do so being for players to enable 2FA and to use strong, unique passwords.
Thari 15 Report post Posted August 29, 2017 The loot tables weren't really nerfed, they were actually fixed. The QA Team on Nostalrius did major research on actual blizzlike loot tables. If you get lower amount of Gold per Hour here compared to your last few vanilla servers, then you are used to servers with broken and inaccurate loot tables. Also, while goldsellers get a big amount of their gold through compromising accounts, it is by far not the only way they gain their gold. There are dozens of other ways they get their gold, and all are strongly monitored by us and our protection systems.
