MysticTxe 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2017 (edited) I'm having a hard time taming new pets close to my level. I take huge damage due to the 100% armor debuff and will often die before the tame timer runs out. How can I improve my survivability for taming pets around my level? Or is it more common to only tame pets several levels below you? Edit: I didn't realize you could use freezing trap and still tame the mob. That seems to do the trick pretty well. Raziya 11 Report post Posted September 22, 2017 If Freezing Trap ain't enough, try opening with Concussive Shot before Tame Beast, or some other kind of CC. Scare Beast is great, but good luck making that beast run into a Freezing Trap after the fear effect wears off. That can be kind of a toss-up.

That's risky since a mob might be able to max-range melee you and stay out of range of the trap. I try taming after scaring while standing behind a trap, in the probable direction the mob will come.
mird99 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2017 you can also bring another pet with you and let it tank while you are taming. Just abandon it when you are almost done.Together with ice trap you can get in 2 taming attempts easily.

Roxanne Flowers 15 Report post Posted September 26, 2017 Yeah, but it only works if you've got a "disposable" Pet you don't mind abandoning in order to do it.

You'll have an empty spot either way. You can tame something in the area and release it when you tame the thing you want.
