We need a new PvE server!

Greetings, Elysium and it's community!

I was quite shocked to hear that Darrowshire, the only PvE realm of Elysium is going to merge with Nighthaven shortly. At this point, I decided it's time I took action.

I can expect that this is a topic of controversy between those who like PvP and those who don't. But honestly, I really don't like PvP and want to enjoy the game itself. I prefer to be part of a PvE realm.

PvP, or field PvP specifically, is a great concept as itself; it allows you to act and fight freely anyone from the opposite faction almost anywhere and do a service for your own faction. It could be enjoyable, however this is not true in my opinion. Field PvP could be a haven of fair 1v1 spars and exciting battles, but in most cases this is not true.

Free hands on sparring players is too much of a right to give. Even it sounds really nice to be going on and fighting for honor, this doesn't apply on most cases. Players in field PvP often attack you when the odds are in their favor, and it doesn't matter what's your situation is, as long as it's ideal for them, and that's unfortunately part of human nature. These situations could be such as a significantly higher level ganking you, 2v1, getting ganked while near death, twinks, melee vs. ranged situations or even a slaughterparty hosted by a level 60 in the middle of a town for level 20s. These of course could be avoided if everyone had the sense of righteousness and fair play in their mind, but this isn't often the case, making PvP realms for those who don't like them that much very irritating and annoying, at times even unplayable. I personally wanna just play the game, not having to corpse run an hour a day just because somebody decided to charge at me while my condition for a fight wasn't the best possible.

I don't hold beef for either of the factions; in fact, I am a neutral and don't mind playing either for the Alliance or for the Horde; It's all the same to me. Some people in my opinion take it a little too seriously and are absolutists against the opposite faction, and does anything they're able to ruin their side completely. I guess it's understandable because it's part of the game, but I personally don't care. Some also pursue Honor, but honestly, you can't reach far in the PvP rankings unless you invest hours and hours a day to get higher. In my way of saying, there is never honor in gaining Honor.

Elysium Team, if you would please listen to my plead, please implement a new PvE realm for vanilla and possibly also for BC when it comes out. It'd help separate people from those who prefer to be pacifists and from those who prefer to be constantly on their toes and let us all enjoy the game the way we want to. Thank you :)

After a little conversation with Shenna, the replying staff member of the topic, it has come to my attention that there will be a new realm sooner or later, and it will most likely be PvE. The results will be announced in the Elysium's news when the new vanilla realm is created.

Hello I think it's good idea. If we will have 2 servers: pvp and pve, everyone can choose what everyone wants.

All servers should be pve in the first place.  PVP servers are just for assholes that want to harass other players.  If you want to fight then join a bg.

As much as I dont like PVP, and my lost characters were on the PVE server, Just to play Classic in this manner Id do either.

Still prefer PVE, but whatever....

Hater, if you have checked the updates, there is apparently a possibility to restore characters later. I suppose you should check it out :)

If we ever open a new Vanilla realm before TBC launch, it might be PVE :) But it can't happen anytime soon, because we can't split the population of our only left realm!

I think a PvE realm should be considered, yes. 

Ever since Darrowshire was closed on Light's Hope, there is no alternative. There's a project called "Symmetry" but the population there is extremely low (150ish at best). I couldn't find anything else.

Like others, I get annoyed with world PvP and just want to quest and explore at my leisure. Call me a carebear or whatever, but I think Elysium should fill the gap and release a PvE realm. It won't get insane population numbers, but even getting around 1000 peak similar to Darrowshire is enough.

I already know this, and have posted in that thread already, my post in this thread is about the PVE vs PVP topic.

I referenced lost characters to show I would play on either with them, but prefer PVE, as the majority of my characters were on the PVE server.

I like pvp, but being ganked is not pvp. Convert Nighthaven to pve server and lets join BGs at 60 or even at lower lvls !!! :)))

You can keep it Blizzlike and use their new WAR MODE functionality, flag for PVP and get bonus XP or at max level, enhanced loot/abilities.

That new system is amazing... it may very well be the future of PVP in WoW !  You could standardize every realm and allow people who WANT to World PVP activate their war mode and go out into the world and PVP.... I think that was brilliant on their part for sure.
