Few Questions 2.0

Recommended Posts

Greetings to you. Me and my former guild from Nostalrius (we were one of the TOP Alliance guilds) were very interested by everything around your project Elysium. But I have few questions before we decide whether to play or not.

You write that you’re a progressive realm and that your plan is to open all raids except The Temple of Ahn’Qiraj / Naxxramas (if I got it right). I want to ask – isn’t it a pity? It was good at Nostalrius that all raids were opened one by one, players had a lot of time to go through them. It was always a great event (AV -> BWL -> ZG -> Other content!!!). What do you think of it?

The next thing I’m interested in – how do you solve AV? Will it be our old, good, fair and LONG AV, or the one we know now? Do you dare it?

My next question is about statements in the game (.get blockchance | .get dodgechance | .get hitchance and .bg av (Alterac Valley) | .bg ws (Warsong Gulch) | .bg ab (Arathi Basin) and more), which can be currently used on your russian server. I unerstand that in the era of vanilla it was a wanted simplification, it was suitable, but there was nothing like this at Nostalrius and playing there was good too.

I hope that as many things as possible will remain without changes. No modifications of AH, BG, rates, no "dungeon finder" (I read something about it, I hope that there will be nothing like this) and so on. People want what Nostalrius had. Just common WoW, it´s simple

I also read that Blizzard can´t do anything to you. That´s great. Does it mean that you can laugh at Blizzard´s face? I´ll never forget what they did to Nostalrius and now they´re silent.

It’s clear to me that some questions might have been already answered, for that I’m sorry.

Greetings, Kykyma.

I will address your concerns as best as I can.

1. This is exactly what we plan to do. Elysium will be a progressive realm, but the this doesn't mean Ahn'Qiraj and Naxxramas won't be available. We will simply be opening them when they are fully operational and the community here on Elysium feels ready to take on such challenge (When they have settled on the new realm). What you describe regarding Nostalrius (raids being opened one by one) is basically what we're going to do, but you have my sincerest apologies if you understood that part of the FAQ wrong.

2. We are not sure if we will be implementing them too. We will most likely act on the matter as we get closer to the launch. Either we will be keeping said features, and influencing their uses / existence based on how the community views them, or we will not be implementing them on Elysium (As it is stated in the FAQ, the battleground queue feature is currently being reviewed by the staff members to assure that it won't be gamebreaking, so even if it gets implemented, we will do our best to accomodate to the playerbase's desires regarding it).

3. I am not fully sure where you got the "Blizzard can't do anything to you" part, but I am afraid I can not give a clear answer to your question. We do not seek to interact with Blizzard Entertainment in any way, shape, or form, and we are fully aware of what happened to Nostalrius, but there is nothing we can do about it.

Sincerely, Queeky.

In Soviet Russia private server closes you, Blizzard.

The Valkyrie project and servers have been up and running for 7 years and aren't going anywhere.

While I loved Nostalrius, I personally am not looking for Elysium to be a clone of that. I think the custom commands are fine, and the queue BG's from anywhere is a game-changer for me... in a good way! I don't want to sit in cities queuing. I can play retail if that's the type of experience I want.

As someone who is mostly a PvPer, and wants to be out in the world having world PvP as much as possible when not in a BG (not stuck in cities queuing 24/7).  BG commands are one of the things that excites me most about Elysium. I will be heartbroken if they are removed.   :(

Allright, I get your answers, I undesrstand it and I like it. I get the answer about AV, I understand the first answer too, but what else will be opened at the beginning? Onyxia, MC, BWL, ZG? All at once? A for the sentence "Blizzard can't do anything to you", it's said that you're from Russia and Blizzard and their laws can't do anything to you, but I don't understand these things too much. And I'd like to get an answer to this: "I hope that as many things as possible will remain without changes. No modifications of AH, BG, rates, no "dungeon finder" (I read something about it, I hope that there will be nothing like this) and so on. People want what Nostalrius had. Just common WoW, it´s simple". That's very important for me and my group and I believe  for many other people too (otherwise Nostalrius wouldn't have so many active people in so short time). Thanks, guys

People want what Nostalrius had.

What people?

I'm people, and I fully support the custom commands here. Further, among my circle of WoW friends, that are all heavily into PvP, it's unanimous that the remote BG queue commands are amazing. That we can be out in the world doing things, and queue at anytime expands on one of the best traits of Vanilla... being out in the world.

Thousands and more players played at Nostalrius. Nostalrius…why became it so successful in a short time? Because it was 100% like the official server and don't hve these changes. But yeah, i must agree, your arguments is good.

And special for you, Xudojnik - http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Dungeon_Finder. DF come in WotLK (3.3.0)

Dungeon finder on Valkyrie is not like Dungeon finder in WotLK. There IS significant difference.

Read your link carefully. Especially History article.

Dungeon finder on Valkyrie IS blizzlike like it was in 1.12.2

"In Patch 1.9, the LookingForGroup channel became global, although it was restricted to the major cities.". You think this? Just LFG channel?

Greetings, Kykyma.

Onyxia, MC, BWL, ZG? All at once?

I explained that in my first post: The things that you have mentioned will not be availabe at launch or relased simultaneously. They will be relased progressively (the next tier will probably be relased after the current tier's boss is killed, but this is still being discussed).

No, The Auction House and rates will not be modified.

As for your concern regarding the Dungeon Finder, yes, it was available in Vanilla, for a short period of time, in the form of innkeeper features and meeting stone queues (Both being present on Valkyrie), and thus is not "custom" in the fullest sense of the word (See our Administrator's quote for further information).

Sincerely, Queeky.

Perfect guys, really. It all sounds good and i'm happy, but is here any change you don't apply this finder at Elysium?

So, please, tell me, how work it. Thank you for your link, but i do not understand Russian speech.

There are many quotes in English. They contain all information you need.

In short. You ask Innkeeper to register you in queue for instance. You also have an option to "collect" a group from registered players.

In addition, you can "collect" a group at the Meeting Stone.

Dungeon finder is blizzlike. Why it should not be enabled?

Shenna, wrong...........

NOT Dungeon Finder, this is Meeting Stones

http://wow.gamepedia.com/Patch_1.3.0 and other...

Patch 1.7.0 (13-Sep-2005):
-You will no longer be kicked from the meeting stone queue when a player declines a group invite or when inviting someone that is already in a group.
-You will now be informed that you have left the meeting stone queue when the group leader logs out.
-Tanks and Healers will now be immediately added to the group by the meeting stone when they are the 5th member of the group.
-You can now be added to a group by the meeting stone when that group contains characters that have disconnected.

Patch 1.6.0 (12-Jul-2005):
-Players now receive an error message if they try to join a meeting stone queue and are in a raid or are not the party leader.

Patch 1.5.0 (2005-06-07):
-Innkeepers around the world now have a gossip option that lets you join a meeting stone directly from the innkeeper rather than going to the location of the meeting stone. Also these Innkeepers will now have background lore about each of the dungeons.
-Levels Required for meeting stones have been increased. The intent is that a group will not receive party members from a meeting stone that don't really have a chance of completing the dungeon.
-Meeting Stones have had their rules for what players are grouped with what other players relaxed. This means groups who use meeting stones (or innkeepers) should have their groups formed much more quickly than they were previously.

Patch 1.3.0 (07-Mar-2005):
-Meeting Stones added.

So I have to say that you convinced me and the project Elysium seems to be in good hands. Hopefully all your principles will last as long as possible. I still hope that nothing like „dungeon finder“ (no matter how it works) will be added into the game. Let them all walk :) One of the last things I want to say is that I appreciate your patience and effort to explain to me everything I wanted. My English isn’t perfect and there could be some missunderstanding. I wish you luck and see you 17.8.! ;)

Kykyma, the group finder just helps you find other people that want to do that same dungeon as you. It won't teleport you to the instance like in WotlK.

Question regarding the .bg command: after the BG is finished, will it port me back to my original location or to a (random) battlemaster?

Back to your original location.

If I may, I have certain questions regarding this server I haven't found elsewhere.

1) Content difficulty - Will you keep the same HP/damage numbers as retail? With current knowledge, 1.12 talents and 1.12 items (as you guys confirmed) MC/Ony/BWL/ZG is a cakewalk and far too boring, especially for months.

2) Release schedule - Since it has been clarified that it will be progressive, can you estimate the release of War Effort to open AQ? After Nefarian is defeated is a vague term and can mean both a week or months after or hell, in some private servers cases, years after. Personally speaking from past experiences, I have lost all trust in priv. server admins and their vague schedules.

Glad to hear people phrasing the scripting, but additionally, these above two are super important to a lot of players I know. Because after years of recent 1x servers (ED/Nost/KRO) vanilla private veterans like myself are fantastically tired of MC/BWL. Especially the easy, faceroll ones.

Greetings, Walgrave!

We have taken modifying HP and Damage in order to make content more challenging into consideration, however, this is still being discussed. As for your second question, I'm afraid I can not give a clear answer to it. Out content relase most likely be influenced by player progress but raid tiers coulf also be relased a set ammount of time from each other. Out of these two options, we find the first one more suitable.

Sincerely, Queeky.
