DPSMate - A combat analyzation tool

Recommended Posts

Am I the only one that doesn't get any data collection on a majority of the tabs? Only curious. I never see a reporting on the interrupts, poison/disease/magic cleansed etc. Only ones I seem to get any data on is the DPS and heal related groups. Is that simply me or is this a known issue?

Many events don't exist yet at the current patch of nost, so that may be a reason. Not sure, other have to report their experience

Hi Shino,

Having an issue with incorrect data. Here is the parse from tonight:

https://legacy-logs.com/Vanilla/Raids/Evaluation/index.php?rid=3749

Another person in my raid also uploaded a log (I saw both of ours in the queue), but the parse only says my name. I have looked at other guild parses and they say multiple names on the 'uploaded by' line. Does the server handle grouping logs together automatically or is there something we need to do?

As to the incorrect data, if you look at the Gehennes (Attempt), it was actually a kill with only 1 death. One of the tanks, Zimko, only shows dealing 400 damage, yet he was off tanking the entire fight. One of our rogues, Nialo, wasn't even listed as present. We had DPSMate in use by multiple people, melee, healers, tanks and had sync enabled and we reset right before the first pull of the night. I am using the launcher of course, which I believe auto updates to the latest DPSMate version.

Tonight was the first night we had more than myself using DPSMate, and our last Gehennes kill also had issues with missing data. I thought it must have just been because I was the only one using DPSMate, but I guess not.

Do you know what could fix our issues?

I need you both to send me your save logs of the raid if you still have it.

You should find it in WTF/LLSave

cheers!

I have been receiving Critical Errors when I try to log out of the game now that I have this addon, is there anyway to fix this? Its not every time I log but its noticeable difference after using this addon.

Hello, i'm looking for an addon to record magical damage done on me and its associated resistance values
I'm trying to test magical resistance values using 300 resistance sets against different spells

Would this addon be able to collect such data ? like " 42 shadow bolts taken, 30% overall resistance, 2% miss, etc " ?

My guildmate and I sent the files a day or so ago. Have you had a chance to see what our problem is? Thanks.

no, I did not have the chance yet.

I am currently very busy studying for my university exams. I did download them already though and will look at it, when the time allows it.

cheers!

Legacy Log question. Generally speaking we usually only have 2-4 people uploading to legacy-logs. But it always seems to destroy the melees parses when a healer uploads their data. In several fights, for example, I'll have around 90k dmg done and all melee sees my damage the same. And when i upload it reflects that. but as soon as a healer uploads, it gets cut in half. And i go from top, to near the tanks. Is this supposed to happen? They are synced. I also just noticed that every fight, even though the clear was all 1 shots, has at least 2 "attempts". One of the attempts is everyone, while the other is the same amount of time, but only around 5-8 people. As far as we can tell from comparing raid-stat parses and legacy-log parses, the legacy logs is never even remotely near being correct.

Hmm,

I may have done something terribly wrong. I will copy it into the issue tracker and solve it after my exams asap!

cheers!

Please don't use the development version. Use the official download link at releases not the master branch.

The current build is 90 not 91!

cheers!

It appears that Legacy Logs only shows damage that is redundant in all logs submitted. Our raids regularly have 3-4 people submitting logs and I've found that in fights like Razorgore where the groups are split up, it'll only log like 10-15k damage for some of the dps throughout the fight once all uploaders submit. I'm not sure how you've got the site setup but it definitely should not cancel out damage from, say, my logs simply because it doesn't show up in someone elses logs because they were too far away. Is this intended to be corrected? Just curious. Love the addon and dont wanna stop using it!

Obviously not, you reported this issue a week ago already and I am going to troubleshoot it as soon as my exams are done.

See, this is quiete a major issue that is not solvable over several small sessions but requires a few long ones.

So expect to see a fix beginning/mid march. That is when my exams are done.

Meanwhile what could be very useful is, if you send me the logs of every uploader where this happened, so I can work with them locally. Alternativly, tell me once everyone uploaded. Logs are saved for 24 hours, so I can retrieve them from there as well.

cheers!

Don't know how your parsing work, but relying on combat log distance is a very fragile solution, as we already seen above. Maybe consider different algo using local logs aggregation for every dpsmate user and periodic syncing across raid members those aggregated logs?

I am not relying on that combat log distance. That is the whole point of even having a syncing feature.

Problem is that there is somewhere an logical mistake I did, that I have to find now.

The merging on Legacy Logs should try to accumulate as much different data as possible and update data that is less accurate.

This works to some extend, but as pointed out above there is somewhere an issue.

DPSMate is syncing data across the users that are in the sync channel. This differs though from server to server (Depending how they are configured in terms of AddonMessages)

cheers!

Shino, a small request not for myself, but for the rest majority of DPSMate users. Can you make default design settings a bit less nerdy? I mean, 90% of users just install it, move the list and they done with configuration. For some unknown reasons all dps/threat meters are so ugly and overwhelmed with buttons/features that the majority of players never use. Lets simplify their lives and their UI :)

Here is my suggestions:

1. Hide it automatically when not in party.

2. Remove all empty spots that give no info. Like resize the list automatically to the size of players list. Or, at least, make everything 100% transparent.

3. Remove all buttons on frames, all options hide under minimap icon right-click menu.

I did such configuration for myself and pretty happy, wish I could see such simplicity on every player's screenshot. (dpsmate + ktm shown)

@Pel,

https://github.com/Geigerkind/DPSMate/releases

@kakysha,

these are the settings that most people prefer, atleast on the server I played on. I tried to make the addon as easy to configure as possible. It is impossible to meet everyones taste.

Sorry, I will keep them this way.

@snowbarsy,

Did you increase your addon memory?

cheers!
