meddlingmage 3 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 So I have never been present for a "launch" this server has more publicity and exposure than I ever recall for a legacy server, its going to be massive on all accounts in my opinion. So I'm really concerned with standing around and being able to do nothing, there are going to be potentially 50 others (insert race/class/spec) just like me standing around trying to kill X number of Y mobs. Now I know you can "group up" and make friends etc.. but this is honestly easier said than done in terms of available mobs/quest items to be found and right clicked relative to the number of players trying to complete said quests. So I guess what I'm getting at is... is anything going to be done to curb this? For instance in any starting zone you essentially need to kill 8 boars, 6 kobolds, and collect 6 red bandannas (for example). You are literally going to have anywhere from 30-100 people trying to do this exact quest (in a rough estimation of course). So is there anything that will be implemented to allow players to actually... play? Lessen the respawn rates? Allow players to "tag" mobs to more easily share credit? These are just off the top of the head. I'm super excited... but so are 10,000 other people. I feel like I'm going to log on and watch thousands of players run around but accomplish literally nothing. I hope this all makes sense. Thanks to all for reading/hopefully addressing.
Motorbreath 923 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 If I'm right, Nost core has an implemented dynamic spawn rate system depending on the amount of people in said location. But if you don't feel like racing towards level 60, just wait a couple of days.

Where can we find out if dynamic spawn rate is implemented, even if it is... will it be worthwhile for the no doubt thousands and thousands of players bound to flood the servers?
Shayss 43 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 Can I ask you why you say this? Where can we find out if dynamic spawn rate is implemented, even if it is... will it be worthwhile for the no doubt thousands and thousands of players bound to flood the servers? To put it simply, dynamic respawn will help, but with the numbers of players that are going to be leveling you WILL struggle to kill everything as you get to it. This is not retail instant respawn... I leveled 3 chars to max and was halfway with a 4th on Nost. You will suffer at the start and then the further you get the more it will thin out. Lots of players will start quitting at level 20 or so (It's always like this) and around 32+ , when people get caught in STV, will be the clear sailing point. My suggestion to you, check mob respawn points. Make groups and friends with the randoms. Don't do escorts. Stick to your guns and keep going.
Tholren 7 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 You'll have a somewhat hard time with competition, but the dynamic spawn should help make it playable. Just enjoy the Vanilla feels and massive population. Isn't this what we all wanted?
Rojas 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 Or just skip all the kill / collect early quests and grind like a fool.

Mitycircin 3 Report post Posted November 18, 2016 Personally, id wait a week or so after launch and then start all nighting it. Less played but you could still easily get to 60 before the majorly of people because you will not be stuck in the starter zones with lots of people and the initial rush will be spread out

When Nost had its high peaks there we're still tons of players in every zone regardless of level (which brings an amazing community )

Cabbage 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2016 I was on during the PvE start for Nost - rolled Undead which was a mad rush when players outnumber mobs 10 to 1. Dynamic spawning made no difference, casters couldn't even finish casting before a mob was snatched up....but that was all part of the fun I ended up grouping with 4 others and took off into Tirisfall to grind which was a lot more effective. Standing around trying to complete those lowbie quests will just make you scream. Either login and snatch up your preferred name then wait 8-24 hours to play, or invite randoms and run for the hills - try to get a healer or two though

Banezilla 2 Report post Posted November 22, 2016 The dynamic spawns were "working" during the stress test and I could tell that the mobs were spawning slightly faster. The spawns were not spawning nearly quick enough for a starting areas though.

The spawns were not spawning nearly quick enough for a starting areas though. That's fine. It will be messy at the start as always and then settle later on. Nothing needs to change.
Banezilla 2 Report post Posted November 22, 2016 Sure it will be fine and we will eventually make it past the starting zone like before when there was no dynamic spawns, but the starting zones WILL still be a mess.
Thojorkill 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2016 On the fresh start server, it will be a madhouse. Make sure you have a leveling partner, and grind grind grind. The moment you can hit Deadmines or RFChasm, get in there non-stop and re-run. The population will fall off from 8k to 4kish in a 12 hours or so. I was there for the nost pve opening the moment it popped, and it was a madhouse, but managed to make level 21 before logging, well ahead of the curve. I'll be duo-ing as a hunter/warlock.
