I noticed that in the first stress test, dynamic spawns were working. But in the second stress test, they seemed to be turned off, and mobs were taking 4x longer to respawn. Just curious if this was on purpose, or someone forgot to flip a switch for this test?

mob pathing was also quite ваууed

the last stress test killed a lot of the hype for me and it makes me wonder if they even have the so called "good hardware" when the server can't support 7k without everything in the world mobs, npcs, players becoming bugged out to фекал

.... everybody is in the same place.  That is why you are getting that lag.    In Retail, 2005 AQ gate opening was impossible until like 04:00 in the morning when everybody finally logged off because the couldn't handle 2k + in the same zone.   Single Core processing games just are not made for that.

It brought the servers down.  They would have paid extra for lag, but instead get a 100% broken and shut down server.

explain then why when nost originally announced the shut down and there were thousands of players inside the main cities spamming aoe that there was barely any if any latency lag at all

It's really not worth speculating about this, it was a stress test. That's it.

this is what i dont get it

if it's a stress test why would they disable things that increase strain on the server isn't that the whole point of the test to gauge the strain when it launches?

I'm growing more and more skeptical that they will actually be able to run a server professionally with the amount of players the nost name brings

so what if we get our old characters back do these developers have the prowess to actually script and release AQ and Naxx properly?

To isolate certain aspects of their process would be my guess. The first stress test went very well from what I heard with nearly 8k players on? How many did Nost have at peak times?

12k+

The only reason I'm even speculating these things is that the first test went well and they said they were using old hardware

the recent one they were apparently using the better hardware and it was absolutely unplayable with lag, monsters not pathing correctly, herb nodes in bizarre places, mobs not in correct places

On discord someone from the staff said that they will test it during the 3rd stresstest, or that it will be part of the test.

Once people got spread out they restarted the server with more NPCs. You seem more stressed than the test with little understanding of how to properly test the load capacity of something.

Let's alter the subject matter for ease of understanding. Let's take the durability of a truck bed. Motor companies won't immediately drop 200 tons from 10 feet onto it, watch it get crushed and say "yay, tested,". They would drop a payload on the bed of 5,000 kilos/pounds, document the reaction, drop more weight, and more weight and more, adding more stress over time until noticeable changes that are "unexpected" happen. The goal is to find out exactly how much weight it can hold, while ensuring systems that should not fail under expected weight hold up. Any anomaly detected on systems that should not have had issues, you improve upon those systems and test again.
