Pishy 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 I have read several threads about graphic or model improvmements etc. Mods and enhanced models are bullshit. So I thought i put this guide out there for anyone interested in getting the maximum optical pleasure out of the game. Use this guide: http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?t=1100&f=32 It will turn your game into something beautiful. Also turn your resolution to an absolute max and you will think you're playing a 2016 version of the classic WoW that was released back then - promise! Although it looks gorgeous, it still has the classic Warcraft feeling to it - which is imortant ( I can't stand the current look of World of Garbage). Have fun with it.
DM1234 10 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 That looks really nice, going to try it! Somewhat off topic but in relation to this, if you export to wowmodelviewer do your in-game settings such as the ones above affect that?
Wirago 8 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 Actually very useful. Definetly going to try that. Thanks!
Pishy 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 Actually very useful. Definetly going to try that. Thanks! You're going to like it 100%. Especially the further draw distance makes the world feel much more "real".

Aisar87 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 It's too bad we can't increase grass draw distance, it's the only thing that has ever bothered me. Almost all those commands are set to max already by maxing out all the ingame settings in the options menu.

Pishy 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 It's too bad we can't increase grass draw distance, it's the only thing that has ever bothered me. Almost all those commands are set to max already by maxing out all the ingame settings in the options menu. I have spent several hours tweaking to try to increase the grass distance but I think it's just not possible. However it won't bother you long. Max everything within ingame options and put these commands on top as Falorthan is right: Not all settings are available in the in-game options menu, some of the ones posted are over-the-top improvements Especially the grass density makes it look awesome. Also you will never ever see any sort of "end of the world" anymore! You will also be able to see players and mobs at a distance you didn't know was possible. The world feels 100 times more alive and real - I promise. Also I have enabled a command within my Nvidia settings that allows me to go much further than my native screen resolution. I play at 3000-somethingx2000-something resolution which is absolutely insane on my 27" screen. Sharp like a catana! Thanks Pishy. This is actually pretty cool. You're very welcome, so much worth applying these commands.

Seems like this only sets the settings to the max which i can also do regulary in the GUI. Or did i miss anything? Kind regards

Hazar 3 Report post Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) Seems like this only sets the settings to the max which i can also do regulary in the GUI. Or did i miss anything? Kind regards You can't adjust grass density above "48" in game compare to maximum 256 by going to config.wtf but maximum draw distance in game is maximum for Vanilla no chance to expand it without modifing .exe .mpq files = BAN basically draw distance - client maximum spell level - client maximum water/weather - client maximum shaders - client maximum only few things you can do in config like grass density SET frillDensity "48" maximum in game SET frillDensity "256" maximum in config I prefer it around 150-200 because on 256 its like jungle Edited November 30, 2016 by Hazar

Pishy 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2016 There's before and after pics within this guide. The before pictures were taken with everything maxed within the ingame UI. Especially the Durotar and Echo Isle show a huge difference at a far distance. I agree many commands seems obsolete or are already set to a max. value within ingame UI, but not all of them. Let the before and after pics speak for themselves and feel free to not apply any of these values. There are many more occasions or zones where you see much more details at very far distances (e.g. hills around the zones). I am playing on 3840x2160 resolution on a 27" screen and using max. AA - this alone makes the game look sharp like a catana. It's insane.
