Legacy Returns: Official Release Date

It will be just 4th "Stress Test" on 17th December. 15k online in first 2 hours. It will be unplayable for first 1-2 days guys. Bet on that will be 2-3 little wipes in first 5 hours of uptime. So the "real" release for normal play will be only on 19th-20th December.

I want to try Legion, but don't want to spend 60 euro for nothing if I don't like it, like it was with Pandaria, played may be 5 hours, was so boring

17th for the old PvP and PvE servers, and the fresh will be released sometime within the next month (could be just a couple days after tho)

For everyone that is new to vanilla and is really excited for the fresh pvp server i want to warn you about a few things:

Vanilla isn't something you want to rush through that's not how the game was meant to be played if you want to be the first to kill rag or the first to kill nef i'm sorry but that is very unlikely with someone with little experience with vanilla. 

Secondly: i don't understand this fear of "being too far behind" or "not being able to be competitive" I understand where you are coming from but come on anyone who truly wanted to be caught up to geared 60's they could do it in a month its not impossible. So if your new just chill there always be someone ahead of you and behind you in vanilla that's just how online games work so do everyone a favor and enjoy the game for what it is and don't worry about where everyone else is at in the game.

Lastly: enjoy vanilla! its a great game

Couldn't agree more, enjoy the game! The leveling experience is an adventure all on its own and you will feel an immense sense of accomplishment every time you achieve something new, like getting a certain talent, spell, looting an item in a dungeon or finally reaching that profession level so you can make that blue belt you always wanted.

Because it is not a game that gives you flashy pop up achievement every 5 second.

 

But for those who like to experience the leveling as a interesting journey where u need other people to progress, for those who asked themself why every MMO today feels like a single player game, those will love vanilla. Because it is a real MMO, where other players are not just kind of....anoying npc jumping around ....most times at least

Yep, where a lot of quests actually require you to find help, rares are impossible to solo, and there is no dungeon finder, you have to look in general/trade, or whisper random ppl until you find enough. Its not a easy game, all the challenges you see today (ironman, passifist, etc...) in vanilla.. are literally impossible. It is almost guarenteed you WILL die MANY times on the way to 60.

 

So take your time leveling and enjoy the ride and take it easy, because it will be hard.

Containing the hype train would have to the hardest boss this server will come across. Starting to get the itch now, I have been able to contain it for the last few week. So I made a toon on kronos just to fix up a ui and tinker with a few things. I think I should be able to get through the next week now, back to witcher 3 to kill some time.

seems a lot better to join a vanilla server late than say a TBC one because with vanilla you will often see pug mc/ony/zg runs looking for people in just ok gear, yea there may only be ubrs runs where half the фекал is "RESERVED" but you will still get gear. Whereas with TBC if you go to an older server there are hardly any non heroic 5mans going on, and it might take half an hour to find 4 people for a lower level instance

Half an hour seems like nothing when you have literally spent 2-3 hours forming a group for Mara to then have your tank or healer dc or cat being on fire or w/e. to then spend another hour finding a tank or healer but they only want a fresh a run @@

Please you have to start the fresh sever also, not weeks after.
Most people are on holidays now december 16-18th to maybe 10-16th of januari, and most of us new players want to play on a fresh server.

So please don't wait to long for the start of fresh server..

Is there any special even planned when the servers are up? Planned between the players I mean. Like raiding Ironforge or something like that. I'd love to know.
