Why fresh server should release at the same date

Recommended Posts

K-1 had it's population, the majority of us that left Nost to K-1 were around level 30-50 then the 3 week DDOS happened, and 2 week of "new hardware coming" and 2 weeks of server DC every few minutes.

A lot of the Private server vets said screw it at that point.   Went to play on a few bogus TBC realms, some went to Dalaran-WoW, and some went to Elysium.  Some quit all together.      Literally 1/3 of the pop didn't comeback after their 1.5 month of issues, as the player-base lost trust in reason to invest time there.

I don't disagree with that.

You only comment on the population portion.

No way you can disagree that having ZG x2, AQ20 x2, Onxyia, BWL, MC, AQ40 available each week is not more fun than having MC/Onxyia each week, which is what K-2 had.

I don't agree people don't vote in it.

>>> Didn't vote.     You can "not agree I didn't vote" what ever the hell that means.

And I am active on here.    Not a lot of people are active on forums compared to whom actually play on the server.   For ever 1 person active, easily 200+ people that create their account, log on and never see these post.   Go look at Nost forums if you "do not agree".   (prior to shutdown ofc).  About 200 active posters vs 10's of thousands of ACTIVE players.

"Most of the people"? Yeah the 4 people of the opposite opinion comprise "most people". NOT.

You are just scared that the old server will be left to rot along with your shiny 60s.

what are you, 4 years old?

The pop thing is sort of the important issue, but yes, there are a lot of factors to consider.

I really don't think its that big of an issue, because despite having less raids, people still have things that they must do. A good example would be farming gold, working on professions, reputation grinds, etc. Sure it is much more fun to have raids, but during the MC progression most will also be investing their time in getting the mount money, and the exalted reps, so when BWL and eventually AQ are released their characters are "complete".

There is also the factor of PvP. The fresh realm will attract the "new" pvpers, given that they won't have to face people that our-gear them, or the more established premades. I mean if someone has the grand desires of reaching high ranks, it would be far easier to do it in the fresh realm, where the competition is much more balanced gear-wise. And in nost the pvp community was pretty high. It is safe to assume that the large majority of pvpers will focus on the fresh realm.

---

Yes the DDOS did help bring down K1 faster than it did, but that is expected to happen in servers. Nostalrius also suffered some DDOS attack (although not as great). Then there were population splits on some issues (like the release of updated pvp items). While it does present a case for reasons for people to stop playing, it is expected given it is a private server. It still showed the inability for K1 to restore itself, by having K2 suck most of the player base that kept coming to the server.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the old pvp server, and I will most likely still play my character (at least in the beginning). But I will defintly play both realms during the first few months, and see how it goes.

Granted, not everyone will vote, but it is expected most people that see a poll regarding something they like, will do it. It is not a case to dissmis something entirely. Its just a sample view, nothing more (thats why I merely mentioned the poll, I didn't try to use it as prime evidence).

i second this notion, a lot. i think what contributes to my inability to play a horde character (and my god have i tried......) is the fact that the people seem far more childish. obviously this is a personal experience and not to be taken as a fact. i do disagree with the fact that horde mounts are better though.... you cannot go wrong with kitty cat mounts ;)

We are in total agree HappyCat :)

Oh good point on the kitty Mount Cat!! LOL

I really like the wolf mount though and the raptor. The kitty mount is nice though for Night Elfs :)

What bothers me is that people don't realize how big demand is for quality vanilla servers. We are talking about at least 20k people who are going to play on some of three realms, probably even more. No matter how you split population, there is no way that any of these realms will be unplayable (due to low population). Launch of CF (if it even happens) will probably put some dent into it, but not at the point where it will become an issue. And best part is that those 20k will grow over time.
