Wasn't this because they didnt script AQ from the start? So it naturally took a longer time. Maybe it will release faster now when it basically is done and tested.

No, because the PvE server followed the same timeline despite the content being scripted already on the PvP side.

 

Nost opened 2/28/2015, as of 4/10/2016 (shutdown) the War Effort had not begun yet. I would expect similar wait of 12+ months on the fresh server.

That is just to start the war effort. Add a couple months to complete that as well.

People who say old Nost will die are completely ignoring the fact that the fresh server will be MC/Ony only for like 6 months, meanwhile old Nost will likely be on Naxx when BWL is released.

Doubt Naxx will be out before they are on War Effort, but could be. It could be. I will be enjoying AQ for awhile, love AQ 20, short, fun, quick yet deadly mechanics. AQ40 is such a nice change from dragons and fire as well.

You may be right, but my main point is Nost will be quite far ahead of fresh start in terms of progression

I still maintain my theory that all releases on the fresh realm will be a bit faster than on the old Nost, since the content is already prepared and optimized. That being said, still a good amount of months, though.

That belief contradicts statements to the contrary of keep the Nost schedule. It being scripted doesn't take away from a more blizzlike experience. A blizzard expansion is 2 years. The Nost server may be a bit longer than blizz releases, but will be a similar experience.

Blizzlike.... You want the servers down 10 to 15 hours on Tuesdays as well, for that Blizzlike feeling?

 

If it meant I knew that things might be fixed... Maybe. I was more referring to the reason any of us chooses a progressive realm vs all content released realms. I like the whole server being limited, just not at the times where there is nothing to do.

Very doubtful seeing as they could not get the correct content onto the Nost pve server, even months after it had been released on the pvp server they weren't actually successful in implementing the items correctly during the DM patch on the pve server.

 

I think they eventually corrected it, but it took a player from the realm making a comprehensive list of the incorrect items stats/missing items to get it fixed.

 

It's not a criticism because Nost is (was) an amazing server, but you might want to temper your expectations.

Yes. It builds pockets of mini-hype. The game always felt just a little more fun right after maintainance breaks.

Maybe the people implementing it on the PvE server weren't the same that did it on the PvP server? It might be a long shot, I don't really understand the technicalities that happen behind the scenes. Even if it takes the same (or even longer) amount of time, it's fine by me. I have no rush.
