AeonsOfStrife 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 Hey there druid community. I was pondering the idea if leveling only be doing dungeons from lvl 13 to lvl 60. The idea is as follows: - level normally till you reach lvl 13; - head to Orgrimmar and camp the Ragefire Chasm and spam the channel for groups; - get to 17 and head out to Wailing Caverns in Barrens; - get to 22 and head to SFK in Silverpine . . . . . . . . - reach lvl 60 by doing Strat and Scholo. How viable would a strat like this really be considering you will always have the desired items dropped from the respective dungeons plus you'll get to really exercise your role as a tank/dps/healer. (downtimes for learning skills and resupplying with consumables was not taken into account).
taladril 43 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 It's not impossible and you'll have great gear. But it won't be fast. In vanilla, dungeons are excellent xp when you do the quests for them. After that they are useful for the gear. Leveling speed is far faster by questing or even grinding by yourself. But if it's what you enjoy you can do it and it works.
AeonsOfStrife 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 I asked only as a matter of speeding towards lvl 60 and catch up to the other 60's already raiding.
Drain 19 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 I don't know why you insist on doing each dungeon a level sooner than you should, but yes you can focus on dungeons. No one is saying you can only do X number of runs per day or some other фекал. There's no daily quest BS here. As a tank, this isn't bad at all either, as groups come almost at will. But the thing is, unless the runs are incredibly fast or under 5man, it isn't worth it XP wise over questing. But if you want to run a place 20 times because you like bear tanking that much, go right ahead, I'm sure everyone else desperate for a tank, is going to be happy about it. For speed, you either want to skip dungeons entirely, or just do 1 quest run each. This is what the fastest levelers do. Without quests, the dungeons are not higher XP/time than soloing your own mobs, and far less than soloing with quests attached. The main reason to repeat dungeons is for drops.
wingpuller 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 Its not viable and you wont catch up in reasonable time.
AeonsOfStrife 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2016 Thank you all for your promptly answers. Questing it is then.
gotmilk0112 10 Report post Posted December 12, 2016 Dungeons are really crap EXP. Even around level 20, it takes like 5-7dungeon runs to get a single level up...Deadmines for instance, that'd be at least 5 hours, for 1 level. Really ваууing slow.
Nahaz 5 Report post Posted December 12, 2016 They give VERY low xp, plus most people only run low level dungeons once for the quests (which give good xp and blue items), so you'll be looking for new groups constantly.
Ursh 2 Report post Posted December 26, 2016 I think WC is the only one you might have to run 2-3 times, depending on how lucky you are with ninjalooting the quest drops. Way too much junk to collect in there and you'll be competing with people who are also trying to loot everything so they only have to go there once. The leather drops in there are pretty good though, so just roll need and make the hunters, shaman, and rogues cry.

The fastest way to level from dungeons is to find+complete all the associated quests. Here is a good starting point for finding most of the quests. If you do all the quests for Uldaman (for example) they are worth enough XP to gain a level if you're doing it in the late 30's. However, you will most likely finish all the quests in a couple runs. After that, it's not a very efficient way to level, and you might as well go grind somewhere. Also, to get all the quests you will be doing more interaction with the outside world at that point. But, it's a fun way to level. I usually try to grab as many quests as possible if I know I'm going to be doing a certain dungeon.
gotmilk0112 10 Report post Posted January 21, 2017 Yes, with the quests, dungeons are worthwhile. Without quests, dungeons are shit xp/hr. Only time you should ever run a dungeon without quests is to try and get a really sick piece of gear, stuff like Raging Berserker's Helm, that you won't replace for at least 10-15 levels.
