Why delay the fresh if we are enough players?

I'm a new account.  First post.

I made this account for 2 reasons:  1] I never experienced original wow and I liked the idea of the way warcraft began as opposed to what is has wound up as.

2] I had always heard about the NOST community and was interested in the player base and DEV team as to how they responded to the eventual shut down.

 

The idea of a fresh server for "vanilla" appeals to me because that seems to be the most genuine original wow experience I could have.  Now I assume players from NOST would create characters on the fresh serve as well as import their old characters from their original server and paste them into the non "Fresh start" sever.  So even though I started fresh there would be some players there from that community that I heard so much about.

 

I don't understand the hard line arguments of "entitled vets" vs legion cry babies.  I haven't played WOW since the beginning of Cata and I certainly didn't sign up to get anything handed to me.  On the other side I'd be embarrassed to make an argument that I was entitled to be able to access the server equally to NOST players forcing the players that the server was created for into a waiting cue or just not being able to log on.  That piece is shite argument seems to already be splintering the community into factions led by the biggest blow hards.

Fresh server = more things to look forward to.  Plus Elysium said they are using the Nostalrius model, so it's just like starting fresh with Nost.

Also "Bonus" is a subjective term. The fresh server may be considered a secondary thought to some, but to others it is the main reason they are here.

See this is the kind of argument that comes from complete lack of experience in the private server world. If the fresh server ends up killing the new player base for old nost, Fresh nost will never see Naxx. If you had been around for more then a ваууing day you would know this is the loop we've been stuck in for ваууing years.

I really don't see why the death of "old nost" by the fresh would have any negative impact in the fresh server. Nor do I think old nost will fail. However, this is the type of argument that selfish people make, because they are simply afraid that they will invest time in a server that will collapse because of the other realm.

 

- "don't launch a fresh pvp, we don't want to loose our population".

- "give us preferential queue, we were here first so we should login before new players"

 

If you rather play the old nost, go ahead. Mind your own business, and don't tell others what to do, simply because you wish to benefit yourself.

Not to mention there's always a crowd that's running around to all the fresh servers because it's fresh. The important part is to also stay on the server to make it a good server, and not jump to the next fresh hype project when it's announced.

it would effect the fresh realm because most of that pop isn't just gonna stop playing they will flood the fresh because thats where the majority are, which would create lag and ques out the попа, which is another reason why the old nost servers are not going to die. realm caps.

 

chances are all 3 realms are gonna be capped out the попа anyway so i really dont think this argument is gonna be remotely relevant in the end.

 

That isn't really the problem. You can always close down the old realm (once its pop is gone), re-open it in the same progression as the fresh pvp, and allow transfers from the fresh to the fresher. Essentially having the "same" realm, with its population split. But just like you said, with pop caps, it will hardly fail considering the amount of accounts created. If it eventually does, it wouldn't really be cause of the fresh realm, but rather because at some point the population will grow bored and leave the game.

 

The fresh server impact might be noticeable in the long run, because it is more liklely it will get the income from new players, which esentially expands its span through time.

 

One of my first posts was that reviving the old pvp was a bad idea, and they should just have released 2 new realms in equal progression from the start. Hve a fresh re-launch using the nost core, the nost renown, and the nost big population. Would have been a succes.
