Ekyōroþ 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 Wassail! This is the official n00b thread for those new to the Nostalrius and Elysium community. So post a welcome and introduction as we anticipate the launch. I guess I will start. I've been playing Retail since just before TBC launch and have always been curious about legacy servers. I've never played anything other than retail, so I am not sure what exactly to expect honestly. One thing I am looking forward to though, is Hillsbrad foothills. I'm sure we all have fun (or terrible) memories of the skirmishes there, which sometimes turned into full blown guild wars. Nostalrius veterans feel free to let me know what I am in for here, tell us new comers any stories about your interaction with the community here. Regards; Ekyōroþ. ᚺᛖᛁᛚ ᚦᛖ ᛟᛚᛞ ᛞᚨᛇᛋ.

Aaw, the classical need to make the "I don't care about your post" reply. On topic: If you played during TBC you'll pretty much get the same leveling experience, for the most part.

Ekyōroþ 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 We don't want to hear about your post wotlk life. That is all. You're in for more of the same but better. Sounds great to me. Is there a general disdain for griefing and ganking? (I like playing PVP) You fkn noob. Man up and fight. Edit: Oh, and go Horde. Men play on horde. I do like shamans, is chain windfury still a thing? Or has it been patched out? That will probably determine which faction I play. Aaw, the classical need to make the "I don't care about your post" reply. On topic: If you played during TBC you'll pretty much get the same leveling experience, for the most part. I got the tail end of vanilla as well. I'm looking forward to many deaths and struggles, gaining a attachment to my character. (these days everyone has 6+ toons they play ) No I'm saying that I don't want to hear about how cool legion is in public channels when we all come back, or anything about MoP. I'm coming back to oldschool for a reason, so do not fret :^)

Lifealert 19 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 Sounds great to me. Is there a general disdain for griefing and ganking? (I like playing PVP) If world defense channel actually worked then griefing would probably be dealt with more quickly by players like me who like to defend towns. Griefing, especially hillsbrad fields and redridge, is a given. Ganking will happen no matter what. The people who have disdain for these things should really player on the pve server.
Zealotz 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2016 Hey, quite new to that project. Didn't hear at all about Nostralius as I wasn't into wow at that time.I started in BC and basically quit at the same time Ghostcrawler did (~mid pandaria 2013), enjoying the game during that long period. Played some WoD and was disgusted by how фекал the game had become. Came back for Legion and was disappointed aswell (I seriously don't get how that thing got past the design stage).I want to try Elysium as very few games gave me that sense of adventure and escapism as WoW did back in the WotLK/BC days. Cheers !

Agreed with the PVE thing, run with the big dogs get BITTEN. haha. But yeah I like to cause havok sometimes, but really do enjoy being "the defender of Azeroth". Hey, quite new to that project. Athena 3 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) Tldr: If you know what pandas are you are in for a long leveling grind during which you will meet and remember more player names than the number of payers that you know from retail. Ekyōroþ 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 Tldr: If you know what pandas are you are in for a long leveling grind during which you will meet and remember more player names than the number of payers that you know from retail. Organically populated worlds. Summon stones..... Ahhhh sounds brilliant. Again, does anyone know if there is still windury proccing from windfury like the old days? If there isn't I may just play a rogue.
Ekyōroþ 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 well the summon stones aren't actually summons in vanilla.... gotta walk or use a lock the summoning was added in BC i believe. but anyways welcome!! if you are rolling horde prepare to be disemboweled..... just fyi.... Haha damn didn't know that about the summon stones. Wew. Also what faction I go depends on if shamans still have the windfury I like, as mentioned in that other thread
Etharian 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 I'll the noob post here. I first hear of Nost as it was getting shut down, I wish I had known about before as my interest in WoW waned with every passing expansion. Planning on rolling on Nost PvP (and then maybe on Elysium when it is up). Looking for other fresh starts to quest and instance with on the way to 60. See you guys in game in a few days.

I don't know if it's going to be the same on Nost.

Zariya 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 Welcome Eky. I only got to play 2 weeks on nost when it shut down and the starting zones were still packed and it was easy to find groups for low level dungeons. Now we are going to have even more new people. My guild is mostly level 1s starting out and judging from these forums there will be a lots of new players. Just do not get discouraged by lags and disconnects the first few days because of volume of players trying to cram onto the servers. It will ease up in a few days. It is better to have too many players than not enough Best Wishes.
Pishy 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2016 One of the main differences will be that you're going to experience end game vanilla content in a completely different way. If you hit 60 when TBC was already out, the vanilla endgame was just like "normal leveling" content and it went by quite quickly and u were going to outworld at around 58ish already. Thus you defenitely missed a ton of great content.
