Will the hype burn out ?

Recommended Posts

The return of Nost on Elysium was unexpected and i'm thankful for both groups of staff for their hardwork to make legacy servers possible. Elysium now has the chance to thrive as a server, everyone is seeking for a vanilla experience like myself. But i feel like, this project could have started better. A 300k+ petition was made, and this server has 2 servers for 20k online as a cap ?

i suggest both server, collaborate get more servers involved and go bigger! Same rules, same experience, one goal legacy servers.

I'm writing this as i'm waiting in the queue with my guildies from retail ready to take on vanilla again.

Wishing all but the best for this server!

Those are all good suggestions, provided you can guarantee the necessary funds, manpower and willpower to make them happen.

Scaling a service like this for free (for the users) means constantly pushing hardware to the brink. Also, considering how easy it is to such a private server down, centralizing means a bigger loss the next time it happens. Sad but true.

I think the hype on the 2 servers released is already settling in, I've logged in at 11 am and at 11 pm with no wait, with the exception of a few quests I'm not having a hard time finishing quests at all.  It's the ones like where you have to wait for the dreamcatcher dresser to respawn that you usually have to wait for.

I do think the fresh server will be a different story.

Now that queues are reaching 4k on pvp server and 1k on pve server, what do you think of the 5k waiting to play?

I'd say 70% of them are new to the server even from retail...

Ely/Nost should have anticipated this... more server should have been implemented more collaborations was needed to make this an even greater private server then it already is!

I'm just waiting in queue and thinking the endless possibilities this server could have took.

Maybe i'm just a dreamer.

1k on PvE? Was nearly 3k when I started queuing around over 90 mins ago. Still 400+ to go!

As Elysium grows and releases more servers, there will be room for more players to play. Although I wouldn't want hundreds of thousands of players on Elysium, if it became too big -- Blizzard would go far out of it's way to breathe down their necks.

IT will balance itselfe out but I think new servers is not a good idea when so many people started already. I personaly cant be bothered starting again and see no point, since we have an amazing population, and servers are stabilized right now.

also all hype eventual dies out.

But this one will be on for a very long time.

secondly 300k people singed petition over extented period of time what you see now with 20k + online a good number since 90% of the people proly play 2 hours not 24 / 7 lol, there is id say 100k+ active players estipmating on this,

No to new servers from me.

The hype will die down, the numbers will even out (in the long run). It might not be like that at first, but creating more fresh servers? I doubt its a good idea.

The queues we see at Nost PvP aren't as bad, seeing how a lot of those people will go to the Fresh server, but once the Fresh server has queues a lot of peeps will either go back to Nost PvP or PvE. And a lot more will give up after a week or two of playing and will find a new server (Crestfall) to start over again and again.

Releasing new servers is not a good idea yes

If anybody is familiar with the Lineage 2 private server scene.

It can totaly Ruin the whole community creating thousands of server hoppers...

or at least its WWaaay way to early

Having played L2 for way more years than I should have I can safely say that the WoW community, even the worst of it, vastly differs from the L2 scene.

Molten wow is the best case how things can work out just fine they had several high pop server.

Both PvP servers will be capped at 8k and PvE I presume 4k.

Queues will force players to other servers.

Yes the Hype will burn out because of Frustration. pve Server Population already down to 4,5 k from 5,5 k.  pvp constant, pvp Players just want to kill each other, they are not so much interested in the game, so they dont notice the overpopulation and bugs.
