No Fishing sound on Nostalrius ! Support the bug !

There is a problem with fishing sound on this server.

I tried to disable all addons.

I tried to change the channel number in the config file.

Sometimes, like 90% of time, there is no fishing sound to alert you.

Whats the big deal? I guess you can't setup the fish bot cause of that he?

It's nothing to do with bots. Most people using Fishing Buddy which enhances the sound of the bobber. Your typical fisherman/girl will put on a good movie/read a good book and crank up the fishing sounds. Every < 30 seconds you'll need to go and click on your keypad but by and large you can spend a few hours fishing while mostly doing something else. It has always been that way. At the moment, you have to keep your eye on the bobber all the time. So it's bugged and not working as intended.

Actually, fishing is appalling at the moment. Wreckage pools are not giving up any trunks, something I think is deliberate along with the banning of smoked sagefish which is ridiculous. In Feralas mithril trunks come up as blank when fished from open sea, you just get the loot icon and a blank area. In Bay of Storms there are no elemental pools and before the fishing got bugged completely for me I managed to catch 4 fish, one of which was a Summer Bass on the 29th December.

You can catch Winter Squid in Feralas/Tanaris as you should but I can't fish anymore. My current bug means that while the bobber now moves and makes the correct sound, clicking on the cogwheel does not activate the loot icon. So no fish. A lot of us depend on fishing to earn a living on Azeroth as we don't have leet skills, not being able to fish and therefore cook up Nightfin Soup etc removes a central plank for playing the game.    

Before anyone comments about stuff being released in patches, I can still see Stonescale Eel swarms in Tanaris and Bay of Storms, and they came out in 1.11.

Some ppl forget some classes can't farm as a mage,and fishing is part of the economy. Useful for money,for some raid mats...

Yeah I tried fishing while watching Rick and Morty yesterday, with wow small in the corner, and I had to rely on visual cues because there was no splash.

Same here. I had beautiful "I saw a fish!" sound, but now i must stare at bobber all the time. My eyes are hurt!

Never was an avid fisher, but I was planning to do some fishing on the fresh server when everybody is leveling.

As someone who can't see the splash even in retail (bad vision) I rely on the sound of the bobber to click sometimes I miss the feathers bobbing admidst the wave motion or w/e of where I'm fishing.  Definitely more difficult for someone like me for sure.

This, with the missing sound, are the real issues here. Hopefully this can be looked at and fixed in the (very) near future.

It;s not universal. The bobber sound worked for me for about 4-5 hours. It's not UI related either

OK so one (temp) solution is to use your mouse-wheel for camera and scroll through your body so you can just see the water as you're in front of the toon. It'll bring the bobber up real close depending on angle, then you can't miss it.

This had been fixed, right ? I've been fishing 3 days ago and I could hear the Bobble correctly. :/

I confirm it's still bugged on the pve server. I just tested it 5 times, no fishing sound
