Mobs respawn time

Hi community! Asking this to the devs especially: is it possible to set mobs respawn time in starting zones to 1-2 sec (on fresh realm ofc)? Only in starting zones, i think it would be a fair experience, taking in consideration the thousands of people. happy new year!

I'd be down for this, but then I think how easy it would be for people to progress, which would cause it so I wouldnt be able to get past the blob. So no thanks :)

True my friend, but that is why i was asking this only for the very starting zone, like Northshire for example, so people can gtfo from there and take their own leveling path. Having 100 ppl waiting for a wolf to spawn and even then knowing someone else tagged him and u have to wait again won't be any fun.

TBH, you create an even bigger problem at that point, since it's so easy for everyone to get out of the starting zone and its lvls (1-10~) the bottleneck is no longer at the beginning its at westfall or barrens (and instead of people being split up between the starting zones, you have EVERYONE in those two zones). Your not actually solving the issue, but rather moving it up a few lvls. Trust me, it's going to be aids as fuck lvling the first few days, I'm not blind to that, and don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a solution to fix the aids as well, but this doesn't solve that.

I partially agree with you WonderBread. And i say partially, because your point is only available if we all would start at the very same hour on the server, at the launch. And i'm sure most of us will have work or other stuff to do. And at this point, would you have the same people after 2 days of play since the start of the realm, in the same zone, as the people who are just joining ?

You are not moving the issue, you are giving alternatives to the player to move to another region, or try have a party go to an even higher zone killing +10levels above mobs so you can avoid other crowded zones. You can't do that if you still level 2 trying to camp that kobold miner.

Also, this is not something new, this has been done on retail almost at every expansion launch, even in Legion with the CRZ already implemented. I was maybe exagerating with 2second respawn time, but 10sec would be more than ok. And i'm sure this won't deny any of the 'fresh vanila' experience since the rates are the same, 1x, or won't provide any advantages for anyone since it will be only for the very starting zones.

No. There is a dynamic respawn in play. It will be crowded and rough at the start.

My advice: get some coffee, put on some nice music or be on TS with friends.

[3] A Refugee's Quandary -- miserable enough on Nostalrius, even more miserable now on Elysium.

[6] The Emerald Dreamcatcher -- respawn was 10-15 seconds on Nostalrius.  Seems to be "classic" respawn rate on Elysium.

That would just shift to problem to the next area.
At launch of the Nost servers it was quite hard to finish the start zone, but at the end, everyone managed to proceed. It will take its time.

Basically this. Settle in for a long day and realize it's going to be a ridiculous mess at launch.

Just the starting zone? That's FAR worse than the current system. If you're going to increase respawns (which I totally support), do it server-wide. Quests mobs need to be increased, quest items need to be increased. It all needs to be increased. If you ramp up the starting zones barrens becomes an absolute cesspool. And so on and so forth. 

 

Tbh quest mobs and items need to be vastly increased. But I think it all should be increased. Having to group everytime you go to a mob-kill area because of the amount of people vs mob is infuriating.
