I see characters standing in corners of taverns, jumping from time to time or constantly running against walls.

They obviously try to hide from other players and there is only on reason to do such a thing: They are cheating and don't want do get caught.

I'm standing right in front of Shaper from GRIZZLY and what he is doing reminds me of something I saw today on reddit and he is not the only one:

I would just turn on a keyboard-macro like every smart person would do to disable the kick-timer.

If you think they would easily see if one jumps exactly all 5min, I can say that it's like 30seconds work to let the macro do it randomly in times between like 1 and 5 minutes do push buttons or jump

This is nothing we can tolerate. These players should at least get banned for a few days.

They're doing better then you so you cry. Pretty pathetic. Just play harder/better and smarter.

Playing harder or better by using keyboard macros?

What about playing harder / better by buying gold or some leveling boost?

They are cheaters and the only person being pathetic here is you.

Yeah either he is using a macro or he is one of those guys reliving his pixels on Nost PVP and is upset that most people don't want to play there.

Entirely possible. That's exactly how cheaters try to defend their antisocial actions.

I visited Stormwind and I see exactly the same stuff there.

A lot of people sitting on the ground with AFK tags (no problem with that, but auto-disconnect should get fixed soon) and a few characters on the upper floor in corners / behind walls without AFK tags, probably jumping every few minutes. The GMs should check the taverns and monitor these players at least for a few minutes.

ATTN: Any form of Anti-AFK system abuse can result in a ban (depending on severity). We are actively working on a fix for the long queue.

FYI botting is a permanent ban, even anti-afk botting is usually a perma ban..

I hope Elysium has the guts to uphold this 100%, instead of letting it slide.

This is where they either prove to us that they're straightedge enough to be like Nostalrius, or they prove that decay is inevitable as exploitation creates two classes of player.

This is a symptom of the extremely large queues for the new server.

I have been wanting to play on the new server but I don't have 4-6 hours to wait to see if I get in.  I was able to get to the character selection screen one time and then while making the toon I was disconnected and back into the 19k queue.  People are not exaggerating when they are saying they have been in queues for 24+ hours.

I can see why people want to use something to keep them in game so that they could play when they want to and not suffer the wait times.  The problem won't go away with a few bans here and there.  Laziness is the father of invention - the scripts will keep getting more and more complex to keep ahead of the bans.  The solution is another server, or increased population on the current one.

I've been monitoring ban reasons & the ban appeal forums since Nostalrius was released and I can tell you the following:

Any form of Anti-AFK is a permanent ban here. Keyboard macros aswell, since they cause ingame actions without human interaction. I personally know people who got perma-banned for using the simplest autoclicker-scripts. So the guy spamming Aspect of the Hawk is an obvious case here.

AFAIK GMs do not automatically check people for using such cheats/scripts. It's on the players to report them.

Today we had a very annoying queue with only 7k players online (3k in the character selection) and I wouldn't be surprised, if at least 500 players were afk in the game, avoiding a disconnect by some more or less illegal methods.

My anti-AFK mechanism is my mouse every 5 minutes during the 30-45 min time I'm eating the food I've ordered or when I'm watching a video on youtube or talking on the phone for a long time.

Maybe we should also limit the time a player can play a day, so the queues would be gone...

30-45 minutes compared to the 6-12 hours someone is sleeping and / or not at home.

There are people who NEVER go offline, if they can.
