This is a very good idea. Considering the massive amount of lowbies on these servers there's no real need for whispering. If you have friends you can always invite them to your party. This is what I do all the time with my friends. And if you can't party up you can chat or talk through an external program. I'd suggest enabling whispering at around level 13-14 because that's mainly when you start doing dungeons (Ragefire Chasm recommended levels being 13-20).

This has been an absolute pain when getting on an Alt and trying to speak with friends... But I do understand your concerns about being bothered by Spammers and the like.

At least guild creation is kinda affordable...so it makes for a simpler fix.

Hacks arent done by brute force but by using same account information on different servers that at some point WILL get sold or leaked to hackers. If you activate 2-factor authentication that is now available this makes hacking pretty much impossible.

Okay, that's true! But on the other hand, it's very depressing to be muted for such a long time.

This is an MMORPG and not everyone is no-lifing to 60 as fast as possible. Some people will need days to hit level 15.

Many wouldn't give a shit about that, but don't forget the socialisers in this community. They do exist.

is the lvl 8 restriction even in place still? every single spam whisper I've received on new pvp the past two days has been from gibberish-named lvl 1s. on old pvp most whispers were from hijacked accounts with real characters of miscellaneous level and you definitely could not whisper under lvl 8.

without mass access to compromised accounts, spammers need to make throwaway characters. why suddenly allow them to do just that when we had a good measure against it? how can staff hope to keep up with banning accounts that take one minute to replace and resume spamming?

If player level <30 and whisper player X
  Prevent whispering player Y for 10 minutes
   If player X replies
      remove 10 minute restriction to whisper player Y

This is cancer. You need /w for trade, grouping up for quests, building groups for dungeons, etc.

The only real problem I see by restricting whispering until level 13 is the ability to whisper friends or friendly people you'd like to keep in contact with. Wouldn't it be possible to enable whispering if both have eachother added as friends?

on Elysium PvP ".wr on" is bullshit I got spam messages from a gold seller.

Yes minimum level for whispering should be lvl 13 not 8 also if you have a lvl 8 character you can create a lvl 1 and spam another bullshit they can delete the character and create another one so you can't ignore them.
