Software 9 Report post Posted June 26, 2017 Yes, in a heartbeat. There have no really good TBC servers that I know of, and I think the elysium crew would put out something decent. I've player on PvP realms in the past from vanilla up to the end of Cataclysm. It just lost its luster to me at some point. Serious pvpers spend their time in BG's, and in tbc, arenas. At some point I just stopped seeing the fun in possible pvp when I just want to farm some items.

My first char ever was a blood elf paladin, so it's hard to not get nostalgic about TBC for me (all those Blood Knight quests!). Both of the new races and the environments are awesome and very much in line with Vanilla's magical and dangerous feeling as opposed to post-Cata WoW. I do think there was a design mistake in making Shattrath City the 'uber-hub' it was which kinda kills world travel and PvP - maybe those portal's to the various capital cities ought to be excluded. With that said though - I realize that the Elysium team and fans would probably like to focus Vanilla and I'm incredibly grateful for the chance to get to know Vanilla as well, it's just that all the BC servers are full of very strange and not-so-serious people engaging in P2W and stuff, and a TBC server from the Elysium people would be like a dream in that regard.
RisingPhoenix 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2017 Although.. to be honest.. PvE? What we really need is a Legacy RP-PVP server! ;)
jcochran 1 Report post Posted July 16, 2017 I would definitely go to a good TBC server. Blizzard polished quite a few of the rough edges in Vanilla with TBC. They also made a few mistakes, but overall, the classes in Vanilla are more functional than in Vanilla. Paladins actually become viable end game tanks. Blizzard finally gave up on attempting to balance paladins against shamen, etc. There however are also some major issues with TBC. One issue is it killed the Vanilla end game raids. After all, why go through the headaches of a full blown raid when quest greens gives you gear of equal capability? Also funneling all the players into the same starting zone was a mistake as well (Blizzard learned that and that's why in WotLK there were two starting zones).

ProMeTheus112 1 Report post Posted July 19, 2017 yeah flying mounts and outscaling after lvl 60 made TBC less fun to me than vanilla (I never went for max level, I play for the world pvp/pve mixed situations while leveling). In vanilla I think overall things just work better and the world is more lively? If you get stuff at levels before 60, everything of that matters more for your progression you know? Because its not outscaled. With TBC everything after 60 outscales everything before 60 so its breaks the meaning of saving a little of something, or getting some very nice piece at a particular level before 60, etc. Plus all 60+ are encouraged to spend most of their time "outside" of the world, I don't like that. I didn't like flying mounts at all, I don't think it works well with the world pvp or just world. And the class modifications for TBC, well for druid I remember they added the tree of life form which looked ridiculous to me, and I'm not sure that the fine balance was preserved, it seemed more important to specialize etc etc. In vanilla its pretty great how freely you can spec up and make it work. I respect the work that went into designing the outland in TBC, and I'm sure there were some nice things including that I don't know about like all these raids but overall, for me the main point of the game is the world pvp/leveling, so if that's not as good or even damaged by some of the additions that's not an expansion I want at all, I definitely prefer vanilla in the end.
