Elysium PvP - Overcrowded feel

Recommended Posts

Will Elysium PvP ever feel not overcrowded in the future? I really enjoy the frequent World PvP with such a high population. But on the other hand you can really tell that the vanilla world was designed for only 2,5k players. And not over the fourfold.

Not being alone for even 5 minutes, where you would fight for your survival and manage your supplies. Every inch of the world being full of people and corpses of NPC's, somewhat negating the feel of a vast and deadly world. Not actively building a group for elite mobs but instead going to the spawn and typing "Inv".

But that's just my personal preference for immersion. Feel free to dissagree and to prefer the 10k population. ;)

I'm here to ask the question whether this will get better with time. When people have spread more between zones and levels. Nostalrius had 9-11k people online at any given time IIRC. How was it over there?

Thanks in advance!

It will get easier as time goes on and people get to 60. There won't be 5k people in Barrens cause they are all 10-20.

This is correct.  Every single private server that has had at least some hype to it was like this in its first month or so.  With vanilla you will see a decent drop in pop once the nostalgia affect goes away.  give it some time the servers will even out.  From the looks of how they responded it doesn't look like Elysium is going anywhere.  The main issue will be to keep the servers up and how donating will come into effect.

Yeah, you're probably right. I wish I had known that Zeth'Kur is going to be released. But I'll just stay on Elysium and wait till the geographic player density is a little less over the top. :)

Yeah it's just a temporary thing. When you go back to lower level zones for whatever reason, you can tell it's not as packed as it used to be when you were leveling. Everybody leveling at a standard rate is like a wave that's sweeping through the different zones in the world, so for most of us it's probably gonna stay this way until we hit 60.

Stranglethorn is gonna be a real cluster fuck.

I thought about this as a Level 20 mage horde, and just decided to re-roll onZeth'Kur for this very reason, but now I'm torn on whether I made the correct decision.

Had already /played 3 days on Ely PvP. Am going to re-roll regardless. Zeth'Kur doesn't only have a more blizzlike population, the players there also started more spread out regarding the time window. Mainly due to late Re-rollers and new players who didn't want a queue. In contrast to Ely PvP, where pretty much the entire 11k started on release day and are now crowding the same zones alongside.

It will be a bit dull since I'm neither changing my faction nor class or profession. But Ely PvP is not what I'm looking for from a RPG and immersion standpoint.

This was where I was convinced I had made the correct decision, because I thought the congestion thing would alleviate itself to some degree, once we all got out of the starting zone but even after level 20 I would continually find my self having to ask to be invited to groups of people who were just standing around waiting  on a quest objective to spawn, and if I believe the above statement to be true, which I do, then I'm looking at the possiblity of having to deal wit that all the way to 60...I don't think so!

Yeah. I was level 25 and in thousand needeles on wednesday. Wasn't any better there and I hated the stress that I had concerning the leveling. Not stopping, so the crowds wouldn't catch up and make everything worse.

Took a break since then and am going to settle on Zeth in some days.

No it hasn't. This is literally the first time ever that any server has had this kind of population at release. Nost started with about 2k players and slowly grew over the course of a year to reach 10k. Nost PvE only had like 3k or so as well. Nothing has ever been even slightly close to 11.5k players starting at the same time. Nothing has even been half that much, actually. It's utterly unprecedented.

Because everyone knows mmos jump into high gear once you reach max level. Leveling to 60 is a 1-2 month drop in the pond of a many years++ game play experience at 60.

The population of Elysium pvp will create battles the likes world of 'war'craft has never seen.

That is why I'm on Elysium. Can the same thing happen on other servers? Yes, but you are far more likely to see army's march on capital cities or open world pvp events with > players.

Its better than too little, trust me, I disagree with this completely.. its not overcrowded one bit,
in fact  it could use even more players and be fine. its a MASSIVELY multiplayer online .. rpg you get the point.
