Suggestions from a successful game developer.

Since the dust has settled I think it's a good time to take a step back and look at what is really drawing members of the Warcraft community back to the timeless release of Vanilla private/open server.

 

It's the refreshing feeling of community, mixed with the nostalgia and and enjoyment of being surrounded by hundreds of real people climbing the ranks. The world PVP is on point along with  battles between Hillsbrad and Southshore. It's all so good and it's only going to get better. I will keep this short and simple and just list a few suggestions that will really make this server shine, brighter than it already is. 

 

Since you're constructing your own core now, you might as well take advantage of the fact that you can do pretty much anything. So ponder upon these ideas......?

 

1. Possible add in summoning stones in front of instances? This would kill the immersion of slow travel at early level, something that makes you feel so powerless, but you could exponentially speed up grouping. 

2. With suggestion #1 in consideration, also consider the idea of adding in the group finder.

3. Dual specs? This was THE best quality of life addition to WoW. 

4. Possible consider maybe JUST maybe tweaking some of the REALLY bad talents.

2. Group finder was the first step in the destruction of the WoW-communtiy, so absolutely hell no. 

3. Maybe for you it was the best QOL addition. To the plenty of us, we dislike it very much.

Besides any changes would cause an uproar because blizzard is a sacred company and all of the original vanilla content

has been designed under the influence of god himself and was written on pure elven paper. So don´t you dare and question anything!

 

There are so many ways to improve a game but we have to accept it the way it is. It is not perfect but it is still awesome!

Speaking as a professional designer, there's one very important factor you forget: Blizzard spent the last 12 years making what they honestly felt were improvements to the game and those improvements led to a backlash which eventually brought about this very server.

One person's QoL is another's dumbing down. What one player considers 'wasted time' travelling, another considers an important part of giving scale to the game's world. As an ESAK, I don't mind walking or having to talk to other players to build a party.

The game will be updated according to This as far as I'm aware. Any updates outside of that would be odd and hopefully unexisting from an personal standpoint.

There is a version of the game that you can play to get all of this. It's called retail. This project is NOT the shitshow that is retail.

Don't make these stupid suggestions again.

2. by group finder i assume you only mean a way to list a group to find people who would then sign up like the addon OQ? if that's the case i'd be ok with it but certenly not an lfg system like in retail

Actually it is a place where people are allowed to make suggestions, even if they sound completely retarded to you.

If the team would not want to listen to suggestions they would not have created this subforum.

Some proposals probably tend to look too progressive to some of us but it would be helpful

to stay in the polite range of Yes or No, i like it or i dislike it instead of saying: 

GTFO, play retail, stop posting! again and again and again..

You are not succesfull .. this is what blizzard did.. implemented all kinds of silly stuff making the game easier.. 
They ruined the goddamn game by doing your suggestions.

These suggestions would require client modification which is not something we're willing to do at this point. They also go against our project philosophy, which is to emulate vanilla WoW as closely as possible.
