Aerithissa 5 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 So, I'm doing what I did in Vanilla, leveling a resto druid, sadly I don't remember healing dungeons much as I mostly quested. Is it normal to run oom after just a few healing touches? Should I be downranking?
Lorilay 12 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 Get in the habit of downranking. I usually try to cast a heal that will hit for their health deficit (so no overhealing). I usually keep 3-4 ranks of HT on my bars when leveling. Sometimes hots if they are going to be taking a lot of damage.
taladril 43 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 You probably need just more int gear. Downranking as a low level won't help much. You will need to try to maximize the 5 second rule to regen as much as possible in dungeons. And I'd suggest leveling as feral as it's faster. You can still heal with gear. Good luck.
Zosyn 8 Report post Posted January 18, 2017 Never played resto druid, but an important aspect of healing is using your mana-efficient spells as much as you can. To calculate manaefficiency on each of your spells and ranks, use the forumula: Mana-efficiency = average heal / mana cost. Units are heals/mana-point. You will find out, as Blizzard designed it, that the quick heals will have very low efficiency, but are easy to use. On the other hand, longer heals have better efficiency, but can't be relied on in an emergency. You will notice that you will not go oom as fast when you use mana-efficient spells. Also at low lvl, everybody has a low mana pool. The difference between having 300 mana vs 800 mana will quickly add up for you. Goodluck
szuszak 2 Report post Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) ok ill keep it short when healing low/mid lvl dungeons regrowth-only if your tank or you are about to die(you can use low ranks as well - r1 and max rank on your bar is a good idea) rejuvenation-put on a tank at the start of the fight, drop it on that lock that keeps lifetaping all the way to 10% hp or when you have full mana and just want to tap someone of(stil it would be better off to use ht ) healing touch- you main heal - put 3 ranks on your bar , r1 , max rank and mid rank - determine the dmg that the tank takes after the 1st pull , it will give you idea how much time you have to heal him , keep using mid tier ht while in fight , use high lvl ht if he dips a bit low but you still have time to heal , use r1 to top ppl off after the fight try to drink anytime you have a chance ,this way group dsnt have to stop all the time for you to get mana back dont be frustrated if your tank pulls before your mana is full communicate when you need mana of course it changes for pvp where regrowth and rejuv are your main heals and ht is used rarely or after the fight or with NT but for dungeons you will mainly use healing touch all the time dont bother lvling as resto feral has amazing healer talent - heart of the wild just keep full int/spirit set gear in your bank, int>spirit on it but spirit is still good always look for better gear while questing , and also there is a ton of quest rewards that give you nothing good for feral but have decent healer gear, take those as your healer set dont worry your group will wait for you if you tell them that you have to run to the bank to change to healer set also always keep some seeds in your inv for combat res Edited January 19, 2017 by szuszak
Undertanker 88 Report post Posted January 19, 2017 Like Taladril stated, maximize the 5 sec rule. Do to this, keep a regrowth up and a rejuv and wait. At the start of a pull you may need to also hit a Healing touch, but other than that, when it's down to 1 mob can just regrowth + rejuv and wait.
Darthaden 1 Report post Posted January 20, 2017 I'm leveling resto myself and I'm loving it. playing on a pvp server I love going stealth and waiting for that damn horde to on to try to kill my fellow ally only to heal them from the shadows
Duality 4 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 Keep it simple. Maximize your mana pool through int gear. Downrank spells for mana efficiency, and try to minimize overhealing. Keep the '5 sec rule' in mind for more regen, and drink whenever you have a chance.
Xanbor 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2017 i believe, that that the Mana is not correct. 1 Int-point, wherever you get it, should be 15 Mana. Sometimes through a levelup 1 int is only 1 Mana. Can that be? t,
