alfredSsss 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 Hi, lvl 54 hunter here, and I just finally tamed Lupos, anyone have some tips to quickly level him (or other low pets) ?
Roxanne Flowers 15 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 Be a melee hunter for a while and tank for the (lowbie) pet. They just need to get *1* hit in on something to gain XP from it. So play as a melee/survival hunter for a little bit against greens to level your (lowbie) pet and give them time to get a hit in before finishing off whatever is gnawing on your ankle. Should level them up relatively quickly, so long as they can get a hit in at some point.
Raziya 11 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 Back on Nost 1.0, you could kill mobs your pet's level and it'd gain your pet XP. It didn't matter if your pet got a hit on it or not. Not sure if that still works, but if you run around one-shotting or two-shotting things with Auto Shot and Multi Shot(rank 1), it should level your new pet up nice and fast. Gratz on Lupos, by the way :)
Praag 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 kill mobs 5 levels higher than your pet, this gives the high XP and will be the easier than killing monsters your level... It simply takes a lot of time just grinding mobs. I would recommend killing caster mobs as they are easier to ranged attack and die quick. Also you could grind beast for grey vendor drops/leather if you skin.

Pwnjin 1 Report post Posted January 31, 2017 Pet doesnt have to hit the mob to get exp (atleast on Darrowshire). With Lupos you can start leveling right away in the Duskwood on lvl27+ mobs. In the begining aim for +6-7 lvls mobs, to higher lvls, like ~52+ pet, you should aim for mobs 0+3 lvls on your pet (otherwise it gets very slow with higher lvl mobs). Before ~50lvl you will have to kill mobs by yourself, cause your pet would be a non factor with growl < 6 and like 4+ lvls below the mob. The best way to open on mobs lvls 35-50 in my experience is aimed + howl and then kite back for 0-3 more autoshots/multishot. Consider this and prepare and choose mobs accordingly. Mage water is very welcome. Try to choose loosely packed areas of preferably low armor mobs (e.g. packed troll areas in STV might seems like a good idea, but when your pet is 6lvls lower than surrounding mobs he ninja-pulls a lot and you have to melee all those packs or run away - you don't want either of those happening because it slows you down; good area examples are all satyr's locations in Felwood + Azshara, esp since you can farm runes at the same time).

Morathe 5 Report post Posted February 2, 2017 I get about 30k+ exp in 10 minutes. Without really trying. I started at pet lvl 41 and it wasn't pulling elites when parked in place I show, probably can try with even lower pet.
