We have just suspended a number of players for violating our terms of use when it comes to PvP. These players farmed honour in an organized manner without any intent on actually playing the game. While the game mechanics currently enable them to do so, it is clearly against both our server rules as well as the spirit of the game. If you cannot be bothered to actually fight in the battlegrounds, then do not join them. The ring leaders have been suspended for 14 days and the other participants for 7 days.

Normally the GM team does not publish any information on investigations or punishments. We will not divulge their names, but we felt that it is important to send a message to the whole PvP community that such behaviour is not only craven, it is breaking our rules and thus players participating in dodging will be punished.

Quote

B. Mute or temporary account interruption

This sanction can last anywhere from 3 hours to 14 days, depending on severity, and is given for repeated violation of the rules, or for any of the following:

Scamming;

Lying to, or attempting to deceive Elysium staff;

Abuse of in-game bugs;

Organized killing for farming rank and/or honor.

The Rings power was just too strong and we couldn't resist.

Okay, little bit more serious and some informations.

Timmy: "Why were you dodging and not trying to fight the horde?"

Me: "Well Timmy, due to the Queue Premade Priority you are only facing Horde Premades then."

Timmy: "But that's good, it means the people who are really into PvP are facing a group as dedicated and organised as yours!"

Me: "You are actually right and indeed it is a good thing."

Timmy: "But why did you dodge then?"

Me: "Well Timmy, as said before, due to the Premade Queueing Priority you are getting matched with the Premades of the other Faction. The only issue is, if you are the ONLY Alliance Premade you will end up fighting one out of 4-6 Horde Premades."

Timmy: "That's actually good you have to prove you're worthy as PvPer"

Me: "Indeed. but there are several reasons to PvP as a Premade, one of them is not to end in a BG where random Pug Warriors with Rank 11 are running around with 1h Shield. Another and more important one is the Honour you get, you want to be efficent - to get to the higher Ranks you need around 30 Hours of PvPing a Week - in a Premade though. In PUGs you need around three times as much time, which some players can't afford to spend on the game."

Timmy: "But.. Instead of crying do you have a solution to this?"

Me: "Fuck you Timmy - and yes Solution should be no more Premade Queue Priority"

Okay once more I'm very sorry if anyone else except me got banned because of what I did. At least now I know that it wasn't allright and we will see us in 2 Weeks.

There is no "Queue Premade Priority" anymore.

What are you talking about is the 5 minutes timespan after you've queued during which, if the opposite faction has a premade (understand, more than 5 players or the set amount of players required to open a new BG) in queue / queuing, you will be matched with them. If not, you will only get a BG pop and face solo queuers after the 5 minutes mark.

This system existed on Nostalrius and was removed as it encouraged dodging/wintrading and whatnot, on top of not being blizzlike and killed the entire point of Battlegrounds.

The current queue system is the least worst for both premades and solo queuers. For a BG to open you need a set minimum amount of players queued on each side. So obviously by queuing with more than this set amount on alliance side, the system is matching players almost instantly to open a new BG since there are always horde players in queue. The fact you face a lot of premades is completely normal considering the number of different horde premades queuing up. These premades are willing to face alliances ones and play the games until the end even though their ranking up is way harder and more competitive honor wise.

When you say "are really into PvP" and "dedicated" you just explained yourself that if you aren't into PvP and/or dedicated, you should not rank at all. Ranking requiring being into PvP. Doesn't sound bad or far away from retail vanilla, does it ?

You make it look like every BG pop is against a premade. It is not even the case. Queuing few hours with more than 6 players you get as many games against premades as against soloqueuers, which is a good balance.

There were players getting to R12/R13 by just solo queuing even...

@slicy thanks for the explanation. (Really not trying to sound ironic)

As said before, since there wasn't a single Alliance Premade - you did due to the System only match against other "Premades".

So in the end you might have ended up better by playing PUG games, which doesn't include the social aspect of Vanilla PvP at all.

With that you would ban every single pvp player on the pve server.

There is dominating PvP from premades and ofc the enemies AFK to get a fast loss, because they won't be able to win anyways.

Kinda stupid.

If you don't like the way people are doing things on your server perhaps you should change the way the system works?

Yes, this. Instead of straight up ass-fucking 80+ players because a few casuals got butthurt over something that wasn't even named as a ban-able offense in the terms of service.

Backup your claims ? And stop being salty about getting suspended. Could have been way worse, it was the case before. Blatantly cheating and abusing queue system for an entire week because you couldn't be asked to face and win horde premades, all that to farm honor and go for bracket 1 when you're just rank 8. Next time try playing the game fair and square. Man up or something idk. You look like the "casual" here to quote you.

Dodging premades is something I did extensively back on retail, and it was a part of this pvp system, which is broken by design, you can't fix it if you are going to take the blizzlike route. This is certainly a gray area, people were just using the system the way it was designed and this episode just shows how bad the staff is from a communication stand point, or maybe not, maybe that was the whole point, this whole thing wasn't just about making an announcement, but also about making a strong display of power, this server have like 7000 players at any given time I'm sure they can afford to fuck over a couple hundred people just to make a point right.

i'm still wondering how on earth Cannabized wasn't banned for 7 days. He was literally with them the whole time rofl, rip.

The biggest problem is the sheer lack of communication from the GM's, they could of just said "Hey, continue doing this and you'll end up with a temp ban". This "dodging" has been happening for years on retail & other private servers, and is probably still going on now on Anathema regardless.
