Anathema core has issues

Recommended Posts

Guys, love what you do.  Truly.  I played on Elysium before you got the Nost data and would've continued on to 60 had I not been able to go back to my old toons.  And I'm not some starry-eyed fanboi who thinks that the Nost code was perfect; it was not and we all know it.  However, the Anathema core is significantly worse than the Nost core, and I think you should go back to the Nost core until Anathema is *actually* ready.  I know you promised Nost that you wouldn't use their core, but they've turned into a bunch of twats and no one gives a shit what they think anyway.  But the last couple of days, things have been really glitchy.  Things that had been stable up until recently.  When you're in a group, the leader can change randomly.  Player dies?  Leader changes.  Zone in or out?  Leader changes.  The party interface itself has been buggy.  I did a DM:N Tribute with 2 people showing offline in the interface and one showing as dead the entire time.  Questing in Ashenvale, I had murlocs swimming through the ground near the shore.  Turning in quests without sufficient bag space doesn't trigger any sort of a warning, in fact, you get the sound bite for quest completion, it just doesn't actually complete.

It's not unplayable; you can work around all these things.  But it feels like a brand new server with fresh scripting, not a tested and polished one.  Like I said, I'd play on the Anathema core.  Would've continued playing on it had I not gotten to go back to the toons that I love.  But you HAVE a better core and the only thing keeping you from using it is a sense of respect.  And hey, what Nost did was worthy of respect.  But their behavior the last couple of months has trashed any respect owed to them.  So screw Nost, use their core, and let's all move forward with the best Vanilla experience available!

Yeah, they should start fixing the major issues fast. I can already feel it, last few days have been frustrating...

  • Feared targets teleporting around, making them pretty much invulnerable against melee.
  • Appearing 'Offline' after phasing (Going into / out of instance) and Leader changing.
  • Stealth, Vanish and Shadowmeld don't void spells.
  • Pets ignoring stealth. When Hunter sends a pet on you and you Stealth, Vanish or Shadowmeld, the pet still runs up to you and starts attacking.

Things are out of hand.

Stealth and shadowmeld should NOT prevent spells from being cast or landing (vanish should).

Pets SHOULD ignore stealth but not vanish if they were sent to attack before stealth.

TLDR: presuming im right and devs took this for granted and "fixed" it we would have more issues than before the fix. This is why theres a bug tracker which makes u post a SOURCE that confirms what you are saying.

Bug Tracker > Explanation, with proofs > Fixed.

Idk why people keep complaining, but not reporting in the right place. That's not how things changes. Just look at the Arcane missile fix for a good example of report. It was fixed one week later.

Elysium staff is doing a great job, but people don't help them like they should.

I don't see a point in reporting a bug that has already been reported several times before :)

I've seen the Shadowmeld/Stealth bug on there more than once.

Well for one thing, that's not a bug. Shadowmeld didn't block spells until wotlk (and it was nerfed partway through it). Stealth never stopped spells in flight. This is why you need to submit a bug report with properly researched evidence instead of pointless posts on the general forum.

Do we even know that tue core has been switched?  Official link or just guesses?

We don't. Some ppl feel the need to think they switched for some reason.

This please.

Can people stop bitching about things they think are bugs.

"But I was 4 during vanilla and clearly remember...."

and...

"I remember from retail years ago..."

and...

"I've played on plenty of private servers and there the way it worked was...."

Are not good enough reasons to change how things work.

knowing about a bug, and knowing exactly what causes it, and what the correct behavior should be (with sited evidence as back up, not just "i member back when i was a lad i would do this and im SURE it acted this way) are two very different things.

As has been pointed out, the largest hurdle the dev team seems to face is being able to prove exactly how something should be working, not fixing it once that has been determined.

So rather than complaining, try going to the existing bug reports and add more evidence to back up how it should be working. The more work we do for the dev's the more they will be able to fix for us.
