A few questions before starting...

So as someone who joined during the end of Wrath, I always wanted to try out Vanilla and it seems like now is of good of a time as any. I'll still be playing Legion too, I'm sure many of you are, but I'd like to come here now and then. That said, i have a few questions about the server:

1: I saw that the [Talisman of Binding Shard] is actually a drop. Will this be a "only one person gets it" thing like it actually was on Blizz V-WoW, or is it a permenant part of the drop table?

2: Will this server and its realms do the Opening of the Gates of An'Qiraj event when we get to the AQ raid patch? Is it even going to happen at all?

3: Don't take this the wrong way, but how are we sure this server won't get shut down just like Nostalrius?

1. It will drop for one (1) person per server.

2. Yes, there is blizzlike war effort and blizzlike opening of the gates.

3. Who knows.

Thank you. Kinda sucks that it's only one per realm, but I get it. If anything it's more lenient than Blizz-WoW, since that was just one. Gonna download the client and register later today. See any of you on Darrowshire.

Go Anathema instead, we'll get AQ in a month or so, the rest will have to wait for more than a year.

1. Probably blizz-like as stated above.

2. Yes, hopefully. Anathema is due to get AQ this month, so we'll see how that goes before making any real predictions.

3. There are no guarantees.  Create a character and dive in.  Don't worry about what may or may not be around the corner.

but remember : lvling in Classic 1-60 for a "normal" player without huge amount of rested took 8-10 days / played.

Most people are only kind when it benefits them in some way, that's only nature. No one can really tell you if you'll love or hate old wow, i know a bunch of players who started late into wow and never wana go back, and vice versa.

 Pretty much everything Stonrfan said is true, just assume you'll lose your char in like a year + I'd reccomend going Anthema or whatever it's called more guilds, people willing to help and understand as to where on the newer servers everyone act's like they're on speed, If you don't like PVE go darrowshire, i hear they're quite more mature, PVE people tend to be. and it'll help you understand the game more, just find a way to ease in.
