Bots in Newbie Areas

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else noticed the huge amount of obvious bots in newbie areas?  They're quite easy to detect. There's 2 toons together, one following the other at every moment, both have the same class and they both cast the same spells together at exactly the same time.  Is this legal, or is the administration unaware of them?

Yeah, I've come across a handful of bots in Westfall. They usually just run around the zone and kill anything in sight. Following them around and /wave'ing and such, no response, they completely ignore me. And if I pull a mob away from them, they just stand there instead of following the mob.

I recently ran into a Rogue bot who kept using Gouge on cooldown, it would just run up to a mob, start autoattacking and hit Gouge...and keep autoattacking. It never used Sinister Strike, or Eviscerate, or anything else, it ONLY used Gouge.

These idiots need to invest in better botting software.

I'm right now messing with a bot named Dotzi over in felwood. They run in the most obvious scripted path, even jumping at the same spot every time. Almost drains life itself to death when I chain banish their target and they keep spamming dots on an immune target.

Haha, managed to kill it. They kept attacking the banished target until 2 more satyrs killed it.

Im getting a bit worried, had recording of Onegawd a 42 alliance level hunter we found botting. Recorded it and made a report, but i still see him online from time to time even with a confirmed "We will take a look at it" messege from a GM.

If you have a Nvidia GPU you can use shadowplay to record the bots, its very easy to use and then just upload to Youtube if you wanna share it here or else where.

That's the one. Running the same exact path, jumping at the exact same spot for 2 hours last evening, casting dots until out of mana on immune targets, completely ignoring other enemies in favor of wanding an enemy that they couldn't deal damage to.

Okay, thanks. Next time he is in Felwood I will go there to confirm it myself and if he is indeed botting take the necessary steps.

This "Dotzi" person is STILL botting in Felwood. He's running around the northern Jadefire area, moving in the same path over and over again, targeting dead mobs for a split second then untargeting them, and completely ignoring me even when I emote at him or pull mobs away from him.

At 0:54 you can see the jump I mentioned ''They run in the most obvious scripted path, even jumping at the same spot every time. '' in my original post. Good of you to film it, I didn't have any recording program.

If you have an nVidia GPU, you can install Shadowplay. Works way better than FRAPS even, and has all sorts of hotkeys for easy recording, and even lets you stream, or upload recordings directly to YouTube.

The recording quality is pretty nice, and is only about 1gb per minute at 1080p.

Next time don't hug that player so we can actually see it...

Where was I "hugging" him? I was next to him the whole time. You can clearly see movements and actions.

Even so, you can still see the nameplate. What's the issue?
