Can the action of accepting a large amount of gold with nothing in return flag you for investigation for potential gold buying procedures ? GMs are aware of which gold is "clean" and which gold is "dirty". They don't just insta-ban people who trade large amounts of gold, they find sources of "dirty gold" and follow the trail to see who is using it and who is receiving it. If they catch a gold seller, they look at every single person they traded with, every auction they bought out, etc. to carefully determine who is actually involved in trafficking that gold. I have lent upwards of 500+ gold on many occasions without receiving first payment for 2+ weeks. Nothing ever happened. It does not systematically ban you for gold transactions.
