I was curious as to what the stand is for borrowing gold from guildies or friends with the intention of paying back. Can the action of accepting a large amount of gold with nothing in return flag you for investigation for potential gold buying procedures ?

Anyone have any input ?

Yes, it could.

If it doesn't, cool.
If it does, doesn't matter. Once you appeal and they review it and confirm its nothing shady they'll unban.

No, you will not get banned for trading gold. This thread gets posted like three times per week.

GMs are aware of which gold is "clean" and which gold is "dirty". They don't just insta-ban people who trade large amounts of gold, they find sources of "dirty gold" and follow the trail to see who is using it and who is receiving it.

If they catch a gold seller, they look at every single person they traded with, every auction they bought out, etc. to carefully determine who is actually involved in trafficking that gold.

They wouldn't ban him in the first place if there's nothing shady, I suppose. They only ban when they're sure, which makes sense.

They would ban him if they're sure, correct.

The system doesn't tho. It bans when its suspicious.

Then it needs a review from an actual human.

Ofc :)

There are systems in place for the chat, gold and cheats.

Probably some more stuff.

But they won't give players information as to how they work, obviously.

@Nelythia

Are you sure there are automated bans for recieving gold?

Seems highly unlikely to me.

There are not.  I have lent upwards of 500+ gold on many occasions without receiving first payment for 2+ weeks.   Nothing ever happened.

It does not systematically ban you for gold transactions.  People may be flagged when dealing with suspicious accounts, but doesn't = ban.
