Population issues and fixing it

Recommended Posts

As many of us noticed, population is dropping down. If we want to stop it we need to do something!

I think, that we should merge Zethkur with Elysium and Darrowshire with Anathema.

Also, we need to faster-up releases dates to make em blizzlike. Because many ppl thinks that blizzlike timeline is broken and Elysium is "another one bla bla bla".

P.S. Merging Darrowshire with Anathema will also makes War Effort and AQ40 progress more interesting and competive!

I actually agree with this. Even if Anathema currently is about 2x the max-size of retail vanilla servers (5k+ vs 2.5k in retail) I prefer a huge population, as does most other players it would seem. The sweetspot seems to be around 7-10k without introducing lag and lowering draw distance.

Anathema -> Darrowshire?    You want to merge a PvP server with a PvE server?

Fair enough - as long as you keep the PvE setting on the server.   If not - you'll lose even more Community Population, by this move, than you stand to gain.

And if you make that a reality - I'm pretty sure Anathema will not exactly be thrilled.

He probably didnt consider that, nor did I honestly. In that case, merge PvP with PvP and PvE with PvE then.

You can`t prevent population drop with merge any servers, it will drop more and more anyway. Peoples come in and go out of Elysium project, if you need increase population then you need increase incoming part and reduce outcoming. Merging can have only temporally effect here.

You can't merge a PvP and PvE server ever. The large majority of one of the servers would simply leave or relocate afterwards.

Face it, the hype is over.

That and I think the recent staff problems here had a huge impact. We lost a lot of population in such a short time.

Very correct.

A good way to reduce the dropping population, would be starting to solve the massively piling number of bugs reported.    People leave because there is no progression here.  Bugs are simply ignored.

Why would you even want to merge Anathema and Darrowshire? the two realms have really good population.

Is this crappy suggestion day or something?

I can only speak for darrowshire since i havent played on Anathema, but considering their pop is 2-3x of Darrowshire, i cant really see they being in a worse condition

Darrowshire when it was still Nostalrius, had 25 known active raiding guilds that managed to clear MC. and darrowshire was in a good condition.

Now, we have 35 known active raiding guilds that cleared MC and are progressing in BWL, where 11 have cleared BWL, and a total of 25 guilds have killed a boss. and we're suddently in a bad condition? makes no sense whatsoever.

I've got 3 lvl 60's on Darrowshire, and i had no issue with doing all of the dungeons while i was leveling,at lvl 60 there are dungeon pugs, and MC pugs going on several times a week.

Horde could use some more players, but all in all, darrowshire is fine.
